Yes, sorry. A friend and me had Mopar holidays in the US twice, in 1999 and 2000 (we are from Germany). Both years we went to R&R. It was still in business more or less. Ron Slobe, the owner of the yard, had died in the early 90s. We mostly spoke to his employee John, who was a very nice guy. He showed us the remains of the car and parts collection. There were about 1500 Mopars of all years on the yard. The valuable cars were put into buildings. When we were there there were about 60 cars in the buildings, IIRC. These were mostly Hemis and Six Packs. Nearly none was in turn-key condition, most were resto candidates in various conditions.

The black Challenger was a legit Hemi, that is sure. But I didn't write down VIN or Fender Tag info. It was one of the few driving cars. AFAIK it was an automatic.

Ron's widow drove the 70 Cuda convertible pilot car at that time, a white one, BS27V0B100004. I think this car had been sold after a few years as I found some pics of it in the net.

Well that was an interesting run of posts! However, with all that "black and white" I think it's time to add a little "color" to this thread. I was going to go with a really eye-popping High-Impact color, but the legion of loyal fans of this thread ... ahhh, okay, a bunch of people wanted .... ahhh, okay, it was just one guy, who wanted to see the following Hemi Challenger as the next Hemi car posted up in this thread!

JS23R0B376234 is 1 of only 307 1970 Hemi Challenger RT's ever made. 1 of only 287 made for the U.S. market, and of those 1 of 150 with an automatic. It is finished in FE5 Bright-Red with V68 Stripe Delete has a H6X9 black vinyl interior and has a very rare feature to it that makes it very unique.

This Hemi Challenger RT is equipped with the A32 Super-Performance 4:10 geared Dana Axle Package, A45 Aero Package (J78 Front Spoilers and J81 Go-Wing), B51 Power Disc Brakes, C16 Center Console and the rare (for a non-T/A Challenger) N94 Fresh Air T/A hood among other things.

Outside of the T/A Challengers, the availability of the N94 Fresh Air T/A hood was little known and rarely ordered option. Only a small handful of non-T/A Challengers were ordered from the factory with them. This car is the only known Hemi Challenger RT equipped with the N94 Fresh Air T/A hood from the factory which makes it very unique.

The Brothers Collection now owns this rare Challenger and you can bang it here to see it in one of their "Muscle Car of the Week" videos

Cheers!

yeah I was the one guy.

This car I find is amazing.

Because what is the mystery how it ended up with that hood?

That was a pretty long run of Challengers. Time for a Cuda!

I was in Indianapolis two weeks ago and I tried to stop in and visit The RPM Collection. The RPM Collection from what I can gather is a private collection of cars that I came across on the internet and facebook. From what I saw on the web, it seemed that they opened their doors to the public on occasion and I wanted to go visit them as they have (or at least had) at least one Hemi E-body in their possession. I called, I emailed, I messaged and I facebooked, but I never received a reply from them. Took a chance and drove out to where they were suppose to be but could not find anything at the address listed. It wasn't my day.

As for The RPM Collection, has anyone ever managed to reach them and get inside to see the collection?? Shout out if you have!

Anyway, todays Hemi E-body of the day (or week) resides (or resided) within the confines of The RPM Collection. It is 1 of only 45 made for the Canadian market. It is finished in EW1 Alpine-White with a V6X black "Hockey Stick" stripes, a V1X black vinyl top and a H6X9 black vinyl interior. I think that this may be BS23R0B111658 but I'm not completely positive about that.

Nicely appointed interior with Rallye Gauges and Center Console and a R22 AM/8-Track tape player too!

This HemiCuda currently resides (or at least did) within the climate controlled confines of The RPM Collection, and from the looks of it, has some other fine looking Mopars to keep it company.

Air Conditioning? Ahhh - no! However it is equipped with the A01 Light Group Package, A21 Elastomeric Front Bumper Package, A62 Rallye Gauge Package, B51 Power Disc Brakes, C16 Center Console, G31 chrome RH Sport Mirror, G33 LH chrome Sport Mirror, R22 AM/8-Track Radio and S77 Power Steering among other things.

Cheers!

A "swing and a miss" on The RPM Collection ... and he's outta there!

Sometimes gathering some details on a particular car can be rather difficult ... if not impossible. Other times you just get lucky and it kind of falls into your lap when you least expect it. Better lucky than good they say, and that is certainly the case with our next entry.

Completely out of the blue I was contacted by Markus Brantschen of Switzerland who wanted to share with me a 1971 Hemi Challenger RT that he owned until recently. What he unveiled to me was nothing short of incredible as you will soon see. Thank you Markus for bringing this ultra-cool Hemi Challenger to my attention and sharing it with the Cuda-Challenger members. Give it up for Markus!  :clapping: :woo:

JS23R1B199938 is 1 of only 76 1971 Hemi Challenger R/T's ever made and is the only "export" 1971 Hemi Challenger RT known to exist. This incredible Hemi Challenger RT was sold new in Basel-Stadt Switzerland and has been in Europe for almost it's entire existence thus making it relatively unknown to North American enthusiasts ... until now!

This incredible Hemi Challenger RT was brought to my attention by it's fifth owner Markus Brandtschen of Switzerland. Markus owned the car from 2003 thru 2016 and is responsible for performing the beautiful restoration you see before you. Per Markus, this Challenger has spent the first 45 years of it's life in Europe, primarily in Switzerland, and is the only known export spec 1971 Hemi Challenger RT known to exist. In 2016, after 13 years of ownership, Markus decided to let someone else enjoy it and it left Europe for the very first time bound for North America and it's new owner.

This Hemi Challenger RT is just loaded with options! On the inside it has the A01 Light Group Package, B51 Power Disc Brakes, C16 Center Console, C26 Overhead Console, C62 Six-way seat, H31 Rear Window Defogger and P31 Power Windows among other things. Also note that the speedometer is calibrated in kilometers per hour for Europe vs miles per hour for North America; and that it is a "radio delete" since European radios operated on a different frequency band.

The Shaker hood is not an "upgrade" as it is coded on the fender tag for the car - along with a lot of other fantastic options such as: the A33 Track Pack 3:54 geared Dana Axle Package, A45 Aero (front and rear spoilers) Package, A46 Molding Group Package and the A78 Formal Roof Package (now that's rare on a 1971 Hemi car!). Also note the "export spec" data placard attached to the RH inner fender.

Didn't I say this Hemi Challenger RT was loaded with options? Just look at the fender tags! I don't think I have ever seen so many codes on one set of fender tags - not even the Zach Reynolds 1971 Hemi Cuda has more codes then the "Swiss Shaker" Challenger has. Whoever originally ordered this car in Basel-Stadt Switzerland check off what looks to be just about every possible option you could have selected for a 1971 Hemi Challenger RT. Simply amazing! On a side note, did you notice that although the car has Elastomeric bumpers on it, they are not coded on the fender tag (or the build sheet)? Per Markus, the dealership installed the Elastomeric bumpers before the original owner took possession of the car. With all the other option boxes the original owner checked, perhaps he thought that he checked the "A22" box too and was disappointed when the car showed up without them and had the dealer install them for him?

This is one incredibly beautiful and unique 1971 Hemi Challenger RT that has been out of sight of the North American enthusiast for a very long time ... until now. According to Markus, the new owner plans to debut this gorgeous Hemi Challenger RT at the 2017 MCACN show in Chicago. I plan on being there to check it out ... will you?

 Hi Dave! Thanks for allowing me to post up your new Challenger - it's really awesome! :ylsuper:  I tried to represent it the best that I could with the info that Markus provided me, but if there is anything else that you would like to ad by all means chime in and post it up. Hope what Markus says is true and that you bring it to MCACN later this year as I would love to check it out in person. :bananasmi
