Very exciting that it's coming to Canada! 

That was also very nice to me. The car has spent 46 years on 47.5 degree of latitude near Zurich, the climate in kelowna with ~50 degree of latitude is just right for this beauty - she will feel very comfortable

Didn't I say this Hemi Challenger RT was loaded with options? Just look at the fender tags! I don't think I have ever seen so many codes on one set of fender tags - not even the Zach Reynolds 1971 Hemi Cuda has more codes then the "Swiss Shaker" Challenger has. Whoever originally ordered this car in Basel-Stadt Switzerland check off what looks to be just about every possible option you could have selected for a 1971 Hemi Challenger RT. Simply amazing! On a side note, did you notice that although the car has Elastomeric bumpers on it, they are not coded on the fender tag (or the build sheet)? Per Markus, the dealership installed the Elastomeric bumpers before the original owner took possession of the car. With all the other option boxes the original owner checked, perhaps he thought that he checked the "A22" box too and was disappointed when the car showed up without them and had the dealer install them for him?



I think, the sunroof EV2 "Steve Juliano JS23R1" has more options. But I never saw the fender tags...

All good things come to an end at some point or another. After zooming into the stratosphere with the Swiss-Shaker Hemi Challenger RT it's time to fall back to earth. The Swiss-Shaker took us pretty high, so the downward fall is going to be long ... and fast ... we'll have so much speed when we hit bottom that we will probably go deep underground!

And that might not be a bad thing cause from there we can only go up!  Or find something while we are down there ...

While were down there, lets dig deep and see if anyone can find some info on a quartet of sequential VIN Canadian spec '70 HemiCudas. On October 6th, 1969 these four elephants followed each other nose to tail (as elephants do) down the assembly line and then parted ways with three of them migrating west to the Vancouver area of British Columbia while the fourth took a different path to Pendelton Ontario.

146394 is supposed to be an automatic car. But I don't know anything further about it.

A06 was Hemicuda day. I have 28 Hemicuda VINs with SPD A06, including the four mentioned Canadians and two Convertibles. I doubt there was any other day in the 1970 model year with these many Hemis built on one day. The first car is the Canadian #146391, the last (known to me) is 146775. There might be a lot more.
For some of those I have pics and/or fender tag info about. Some of those I just have heard or read about and don't have any further info.

I saw BS23R0B146392 at B-J last month, the car looked nice.  There was a table in front of the car with its Broadcast Sheet on display, as attached.

Apparently 146392 had been in long term storage somewhere in Canada for a very long time. From what I can gather, somewhere around 2003-04 the car was bought, pulled out of storage and restored by Les Baer. From there noted Swedish collector Ted Lindsten acquired the car and had it brought to Sweden to join his collection.



In January 2016 Ted Lindsten had Russo and Steele auctions put up a part of his collection, to include this beauty, as a "no reserve" auction. http://russoandsteele.com/lindsten-collection-of-highly-desirable-classic-mopars-to-be-featured-no-reserve-offerings-at-russo-and-steeles-2016-arizona-car-week-auction-event/  Being a "no reserve" auction the car sold for $149K. A year later the car was at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1970-PLYMOUTH-HEMI-CUDA--201805 and this time the car sold for $302K? Wow! a 100% increase in valuation in only a year? Wow!

I screwed up not buying that car in 1984. It had a 340 in it at that time and I had an unstamped 70 Hemi in my 383 Challenger R/T.

Alright then, we found a lot of info on 146392 being that it has recently been for sale. As for 146391, 93 and 94, all we could find is a SPD and a VON on 146391 (courtesy of Culvers), and a possible ID of one being Rallye-Red with a black interior and a column shift auto trans (courtesy of Sheldon). Not a whole lot, but it's a start, and hopefully some more leads will surface if we keep digging. So for now, we'll put these VINs behind us - unless somebody has something else to contribute? Going once ... going twice ...

No: I wish. I know where two of the cars are residing but don't have Vin's of them as to which is which. But two more of them are alive for sure. The two I know of are still in B.C. I might find out this summer if I have some extra time.

I use to think these Hemi powered beasties were territorial - sticking close to home and defending their part of the reef from all comers. But I've come to find out that these beasties are actually quite far ranging and you never really know where you might come upon one.

Case in point, remember that feel good story about Koby and his search for his Dad's long lost TA? Koby eventually found his Dad's TA at "Kenny's Automotive - in Tokyo Japan of all places! The proprietor of Kenny's Automotive is Kenji Okazaki. For those that followed NHRA drag racing in the 1990's, you will remember that Kenji use to drive Big Jim Dunn's Mooneyes Funny Car. Although Kenji doesn't drive fuel Funny Cars anymore, he's still involved with American muscle cars and has more than one Hemi in his garage to include this one ...




BS23R1B166080 is 1 of only 118 1971 HemiCuda''s ever made. 1 of only 107 made for the U.S. market, and of those 1 of 59 with a 4-speed. It is finished in GY3 Curious-Yellow (the first pic doesn't look it, but that is Curious-Yellow) with V6X black "billboard" stripes and a SRX9 black leather interior. And just in case you thought it may be a clone, here is a pic of the fender tag on Kenji's car



From it's Fender Tag we can see that this HemiCuda came equipped with the A01 Light Group Package, A22 Elastomeric Front and Rear Bumpers Package, A34 Super-Track-Pack 4:10 geared Dana Axle Package, A62 Rallye Gauges Package, B51 Power Disc Brakes, G36 painted Sport Mirrors J81 Go-Wing and the V6X black "billboard" stripes among other things. Sweet!!
