On page 5 you said you still have to find the third 71 Hemicuda in GA4. Maybe it is this one:
Found it on a page called "hemiverts" or something like that. That was in 2003, link doesn't work anymore. I haven't heard or know anything further about the car than what the Picture tells.

Thanks for the post and pic JS! I have no idea if there are in fact only three GA4 '71 HemiCuda's (including the 'vert) or not. Assuming that number (three) is true, I don't see why we could say this car you posted up IS THE third one. So until someone raises the b.s. flag and says it isn't, I say we give it the benefit of the doubt and say that it is!

So what can we see in that pic? GA4 Winchester Gray, V1X black vinyl roof, A45 front and rear spoiler package, L34 road lamps, 450 "Steelies" and a single standard rearview mirror. Anyone see anything else?
Cheers!

Today I am throwing up one of my all time favorites! :cooldancing:

BS23R1B109833 is 1 of only 118 1971 HemiCuda''s ever made. 1 of only 107 made for the U.S. market, and of those 1 of 48 with an automatic. It is finished in FE5 Rallye-Red with V6X black "billboard" stripes and a rare H5X9 black and white, cloth and vinyl "Houndstooth" interior.

This HemiCuda is equipped with the beautiful H5X9 black and white, cloth and vinyl "houndstooth" interior. Supposedly the last roll of original NOS black and white "houndstooth" material known to exist was used to restore the seats and they look fantastic! Love that "houndstooth" interior!

In addition to the might Hemi, this 'Cuda is also equipped with the A01 Light Group Package, A04 Basic Group Package, A62 Rallye Gauges Package, B51 Power Disc Brakes, C14 Rear Shoulder Belts (very rare), G33 LH Remote Chrome Mirror and S77 Power Steering.

This car is an early production car with a SPD (Scheduled Production Date) of 24 August 1970. Being an early build it should have the body colored steel wheels, but you have to admit, the black ones look great on this car. The billboard stripes are not original to the car, but like the black wheels, they look great with this color combination. Mike Mancini and the folks at American Muscle Car Restorations in Kingston RI did the restoration on this car and it is a stunning example of one of the most awesome American muscle cars to ever come out of Detroit and is one of my personal all time favorites!

Great one, for sure!
BTW, isn't it a too early car for black steelies?! Should be body color from what I know. Also, I have never seen a cowl blackout on a 71 car. This began to be omitted in the late 1970 model year.
Do you have a fender tag pic?  :naughty:

Correct, it is too early to have the black "steelies" and should have the body colored ones instead. But you have to admit, the black ones go great with the car and probably actually look better in this case.

Don't know about the cowl blackout issue.

Saw the fender tag in the ad, but failed to "capture" it before the ad went away.  :banghead:

Yep, that Rallye Gauge cluster sure does look like a 72-74 unit. Good eye there Cudamadd.

72-74 cluster, cowl blackout when there shouldn't be any (70 only thing), cowl weather stripping missing, black (instead of body-colored red) steelies - make it stop! With so many "errors" this car should be sold for pennies on the dollar ... to me!  :naughty:  Even despite a few issues, it's still one of my ATFs!

On to new business and a new contestant.

BS23R0B146563 is 1 of only 704 1970 HemiCuda''s ever made. 1 of only 652 made for the U.S. market, and of those 1 of 368 with an automatic. It is finished in EF8 Ivy-Green with V6X black "Hockey Stick" stripes and a H6F8 green vinyl interior. This HemiCuda is nicely equipped with the A32 Super-Performance 4:10 geared Dana Axle Package, A62 Rallye Gauges, B51 Power Disc Brakes, C16 Center Console, C62 Six-Way Driver's Seat and a G33 chrome LH Sport Mirror among other things.

Oddly enough this is the only picture I have for this car. Surely others were posted with the picture of the Fender Tag, but I somehow lost them or failed to capture them? I did however capture the ad for it from the Monterey Sports and Classic Car auction from August 2005 when this car was sold. Does anyone know of, or have some pictures of 146563 that they would like to share??

I don't know for sure, but I think 146563 could be the same car as shown in this Cars-Online dot com ad from a few years ago. In the auction ad it says that it is a two-owner car with less than 17,000 miles on it and has never been restored. In the Cars-Online dot com ad it says that the car has been restored by Roger Gibson. Besides the "unrestored" vs "restored" issue, looks like everything on the tag matches up with this car and they could be the same car, but I have no way of telling for sure.

I don't have positive proof, but I don't believe these two cars are the same.
I have pics of an EF8 automatic survivor that was for sale at Legendary Motorcars in or about January 2005, half a year before the Monterey auction. The following are the pics I saved to my PC in Jan. 2005:

I found this link https://www.americancarcollector.com/premium-auction-database/1564013 by the using the VIN (with an o, not a 0). This seems to be a pic from the Monterey auction.
I spy an V5F on the fender tag above. All the car pictures do not show the moldings. I wonder if these would go off without harming the original paint  :clueless:
Also, the pictured cars all have two chrome mirrors, not just one. Added?
On the other hand, how many EF8 D32 survivors are still left with 16.000/17.000 mls on the odometer? So I am pretty sure that the LMC car is the Monterey car and mathces the fender tag picture.

Picture of the Monterey link above:

It is hard to see, but I'd say there are two mirrors again.
Also, the Monterey car has wheel well moldings and Polyglas tires without tire size, both making it an early car. This would again match both the LMC pictures and the fender tag.

If I didn't goof when saving these pictures, this is what 146563 looked like in 2008:

The (new?) owner put on some Hockeys. Otherwise the car looks the same to me.

On the topic "Gibson restored" EF8 automatic cars I know of two of these. The following one is most likely the one you pictured, Tom.
BS23R0B159467:

Interior is black on this one.

Looks to me as if there is a California license plate like on the cars-on-line-ad?!

And just for the records, here is the second (I know of) EF8 D32 Gibson restored BS23R0:

Sorry, no interior pic on this one. But the fender tag says it is a green one.
This particular car got quite a bit of interest in Mopar Muscle magazine of 1996 and 1997. It was a cover car of MM 08/1996 and was featured in a Gibson resto article in the same mag over that period, IIRC.

Wow! That is a lot of great info and pics you posted up. Thanks Jens!  :clapping:

Now for something a lot more vague - and with no pictures ...

Digging deep into the archives, I found this website called "thehemi" dot com http://www.thehemi.com/  Within it there is a registry, it looks inactive but it's hard to tell as there are no date / time stamps on any of the entries  http://www.thehemi.com/426hemiregistry.php  If you scroll on down to entry #5 you will see a very interesting post - it is posted by none other than our own Ryan Brutt (aka "Devil" here on C-C dot com) THEE "Automotive Archeologist" and Barn Finds author! In his post, Ryan states that he is looking for a 1970 HemiCuda BS23R0B256753 that was once owned by his Dad. Check out Ryan's post here ...

I do not know how old Ryan's post is, but I can't help but wonder if Ryan ever found his Dad's old HemiCuda and if his search for it was the impetus that lead him to becoming THEE "Automotive Archeologist"??

Was hoping that we would hear from the Devil himself, but Ryan must be out in the field following up some leads on a new barn find ...

So, without further ado, our next contestant hails from Wisconsin but now resides in sunny southern California. Say hello to BS23R0B146730  :clapping:

BS23R0B146730 is 1 of only 704 1970 HemiCuda''s ever made. 1 of only 652 made for the U.S. market, and of those 1 of 368 with an automatic. It is finished in FC7 In-Violet with V6X black "Hockey Stick" stripes and a H6XW white vinyl interior.

Nice window sticker showing all of the cars features and options ... and all for less than $5,000 MSRP! I'll take it! (I wish!) This HemiCuda is nicely equipped with the A04 Basic Group (AM Radio, Power Steering and a LH chrome Sport Mirror), A32 Super Performance 4:10 geared Dana Axle Package, A62 Rallye Gauge Package, B51 Power Disc Brakes and a C16 Center Console among other things.

This HemiCuda became somewhat of a local celebrity when it was pulled from a dilapidated old barn where it had sat for decades and restored back to its former glory. So much so that it made the front page of the Eau Claire WI newspaper! Bang it here to read the article  http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20150117/news/301179993

If you're in the market for a restored HemiCuda you're in luck as this In-Violet beauty is for sale at Fusion Motor Co in southern California. Bang it here to see more of it on their website http://www.fusionmotorco.com/vehicles/30/1970-plymouth-cuda

A little update on this one - I heard from Ryan, and amazingly he did manage to track down and locate his Dad's old HemiCuda. Okay, maybe it was a foregone conclusion that he would being that Ryan is THEE Automotive Archaeologist! Anyway, according to Ryan, when he contacted the current owner and asked if he could come see the car, the owner flat out refused to let him come see it - what a weenie!  :swear:
