Questions on Exterior Trim for 70 Cuda
« on: April 27, 2016 - 10:10:29 PM »
After almost two years I have taken the windshield, rear window, and drip rail molding down from the top shelf in the garage to inspect it and figure out what the game plan is going to be with it now that the car is painted.

All of it will need to be buffed and polished and i'm going thru the restore vs. buy repop decision.  It seems I can find the windshield and rear window trim but the stainless drip rail pieces I have not been able to locate.

A couple of questions:

-If I decide to just buy new trim pieces for the windshield and rear window who sells the best ones?
-Anyone know where to find the drip rail pieces?  Classic and Year One have the black pieces but not the stainless pieces.

There's only one manufacture of the windshield and back glass trim, so it's only a matter of who has the best price. I say contact David or Jonathan at Roseville Moparts.

Nobody makes the drip rail moldings or weather-strip channel. Original pieces have to be restored. Member Cody has posted some nice videos somewhere on here about restoring stainless trim. :2thumbs:

My opinion: Polishing stainless is as easy as falling off a log. It is gratifying and you know the factory stuff fits. The garbageman has taken hundreds of pounds of repro  junk away from my home I feel like a sucker everytime a repro piece goes into the garbage can.
