shaker ring gasket
« on: April 28, 2016 - 11:36:34 AM »
so shakers....
want to know if a 'cuda in fact had a gasket between shaker ring and hood, if they did where they very thin and fit poorly.
do most not put it back in during restorations, as the one I have fits poorly, looks very thin and cheap and seems to make no difference, but want to know if it should be put in, almost looks better with out it, or should I trim it way down so it cant be seen....or if a different one should be used? perhaps one that actually matches the hood or ring shape?
:clueless:

I have also seen any version of a 71 cuda shaker hood layout when it comes to seals. should they have the front seal that attaches to front inside edge of hood or not?

thanks

I never replace that gasket around the ring, it's not necessary and looks like crap. :2cents:

YES you should had a hood - to - rad support seal.
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !
