A very similar car just sold for 75K at the spring carlisle auction. You can look up the result on the carlisle website. I believe the carlisle car was also a 70 318 car but it was cloned to a 71 hemi convertible in the same color.

Thank you!  I just looked it up,  sold for $70k but has a 4spd instead of a auto which I think would be worth more?  I don't know if the cloning to a 71 helps value or not

Ha ha ya, pulled it out of storage and drove it into the shop.  Proceeded to check all the fluids and noticed the rear diff was pressurized.  Went to remove the breather and cracked a brake line so had to bend up new lines and install before I could drive it to the car wash

I told gyman in a PM that there was a ton of things wrong with this "clone" of a Hemicuda convertible.
So before he buys it, lets try and list everything that we see that is incorrect for a "clone" of a 70 Cuda.

I'll start:

1) The trunk floor is missing the spare tire bracket and all the drain holes, this makes me thing cheap replacement panels were used with no attention to detail.....What's the rest of the quality of the metal/body work like ?

2) Missing the "Cuda" tail panel chrome trim

3) Missing the "Cuda" Belt line trim

4) Hemicuda would not have wheel lip moldings

5)Has a 1971-74 A/C dash pad but no A/C ?

Anyone else ?
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Let me be the the fly in the ointment! no red bar's in the grill, A/C dash pad that look's like it has A emblem not embossed, no chrome around the taillight panel. don't get me wrong, It's A sharp car but you did ask.  :2cents:O ya no rocker molding.

Thanks again Alan,  you are a excellent resource on these cars,  js29no thank you as well

With these items you guys are listing are they easily fixed?  I understand the trunk pan isn't but do the wheel well mouldings simply come off and leave no screw holes?  Is the chrome on the tail panel available to purchase or stuck looking for a nice used piece ?

Tough steering wheel.  :nono:
Should the upper cowl be blacked out?  :dunno:
Electronic ignition box on the firewall. No real biggie, but still not on 70's
Plastic rear window.
Missing cover for LCA on passenger side, by alternator

Most things are minimal, but they do begin to add up.

Alan, what drain holes are you referring to, am I missing something? :clueless:
