Some times restorations are all about timing....I had a hold-up waiting for parts on another project so I was able to get this car in and stripped, now my metal guy is finished the second sunroof Challenger.....So this convertible Cuda is heading to the metal shop tomorrow.

How many restoration shops can agree to take your job.....get the car in and in a little over three weeks have it stripped and in the metal shop ? If luck has it, this car will be painted before the snow flies this year.... :bananasmi

I treat my customers all the same. If they pay their invoices on time, then I keep things flowing to the best of my ability. My metal shop and my paint shop are pretty steady and appreciate the work I bring them....I keep paying them, they keep doing work for me.....pretty simple principle :drunk:

Clout as in they know your integrity and expectations.  Run my work with the same drive. Good work fair pay. Start bs and then there is another vendor that gets to step in.

Yep simple, but amazes me how idea still gets lost.

Oh...you mean like the last convertible I restored ? :22yikes:

Geez. How much $ just in new sheetmetal did this set your customer back? Luckily the car is very desirable.

Geez. How much $ just in new sheetmetal did this set your customer back? Luckily the car is very desirable.

That car was done with ALL OE sheet metal, either NOS or southern rustfree metal....Long before AMD was on the sceen.
Spent about $10K on sheet metal and about $29K on labour for the metal work. The  owner chose his own body shop which ripped him off for about $17K and didn't finish the car. I pulled the car and took it to Legendary Motor Car who finished the paint for another $18K and then we had a third part polish the paint which charge him $5K....
The project went sideways fast as soon as the customer wanted to get involved with getting it painted....I could have had my guys paint and polish is for roughly $12K at that time....

Had about $150K total in the restoration, ended up selling it in a deal for a Ford GT-50.... :clueless:
