Going Topless at AGAR
« on: May 10, 2016 - 02:33:08 PM »
Okay...so the next project has just arrived at AGAR for a full restoration.
This is 1 of 33 numbers matching fully documented 383 4spd Cuda ragtops

Option from the factory just as you see it, billboards and all...

I think it's a great looking car and a fun driver as is, but the new owner wants it fully restored....One look in the trunk and the repaired quarters and you can understand why.....maybe :grinyes:

Time to start stripping that vert down then, bye bye Judge Judy.

Hopefully there are not convertible parts that will give you fits as those are hard to come by.

I have a friend coming out to help on Thursday, so hopefully it will be 100% dismantled and on a cart and off to the media blasters within one week....So then it will be back to "regularly scheduled programing"  :smilielol:

Looking forward to this one!

When you get to replacing the quarters, please include detailed pictures on how you either graft hardtop quarters into position or use the already converted 'vert quarters.

I was going to have my metal guy convert a set of AMD quarters, but the owner has already order a set of Ken's converted quarters for about twice as much money :money:

Oh nice car! Seems like a lot of these real Cuda verts had leather seats? I'm sure it will be stunning after you get her done!

Those quarter repairs are exactly like mine! I gotta replace mine also at some point. I was told that the guy who makes convertible quarters insn't doing it anymore, is that true? Whats the next best option, convert regular quarters or use skins?

No that's not true....Ken Hopperdietzel is currently making a set for this car and I understand they will be ready to ship soon. He converts them from AMD full quarters. :2thumbs:

My metal guy can do the same thing.

In your proffessional opinion, is it better to convert a pair or use skins? My quarters are fine, no rust, I just don't want them like that.
Can your metal guy do a pair for me?

It depends on if you want quarters with a weld seam and filler or if you want quarters attached at the factory locations  :dunno:

Where are you located ?Shipping in and out of Canada would be a killer, why not just buy a set from Ken ?
