Everything I've read has the Air Gap being the best. Unless you're in a hurry, I'd wait for it's replacement. Just my  :2cents:

Talked to Edelbrock today. This is what I was told on the phone. As soon as it is received, they are going to examine it, then clean it up & QC it. If it passes QC they'll send it back to me. He says depending when they get it, should be a 24 hour turn around to ship back.

I find it very interesting that Edelbrock wanted it back like they did. As my first thought was that it is their piece (as apposed to a knock off) but it is a quality reject that slipped out the back door. They seem to be aggressive on finding out what happened over just sending you a replacement to quiet you. That would be the cheaper route for them.
Again they are covering their internal production/inspection asses.
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

A customer a few years back bought a carb that was badly miscast missing a fuel bowl wall entirely so the air door counterweight was submerged in fuel  they had no interest in it what so ever

Eddy may have started getting their intakes made in a different Chinese city
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I think its great they want to help you out!!

Why is it we all complain about companies customer service...but then when a company tries to make it right, even in a case where they have no reason to, we complain more and try to find a reason why they are helping out?!?!?

In reality, Eddy, who seems to be so concerned, is really just covering their butts.

See my point exactly...they are making it right, for someone that purchased something second hand, and all you see is that they are covering their butts.

Now look I get that that is what they are doing, but in this situation they could have easily said, sorry not our problem, and everyone would have been up in arms about it, instead they say send it to us and if we can fix it we will, and people are still up in arms about it.

I see a company that is providing amazing customer service and working with someone to fix an issue, that seems to be very rare these days.
