Stripe code help

I just bought a Decoder Manual to try to decode my broadcast sheet on my 70 Challenger. When you get to the end of line 3 (V stripe) I have a 98 in the first box and nothing in the second box but I don't see #98 in the book. Anybody know what this code is or what stripe this car has. When I got the car it was blasted and primed. The color is FF4

Yup If it is a car that came standard with a stripe as part of the package like a "JS" Challenger R/T, and you wanted the stripe deleted you would get V98.

On a Challenger R/T you would get a V68. On an A66 car you'd get V98.

Thanks, the car is a 340 four speed convertible, not a R/T

It's weird. The R/T came standard with longitudinal stripes (V6*). The bumble bee (V9*) was a no cost option. The A66 cars were just the opposite, which is why the codes are different.

Yea I didn't give that much thought this morning when I answered the question, but it makes perfect sense......I'll stick to my Plymouths....
