Pretty sure you are mixing up a couple stories there Ian.

Personally, I'm glad we are helping out refugees. If we help each other out the world will become a better place. At least it has a better chance than saying 'screw you - I'm ok, you take care of yourself'.

Along with the H1B BS that is currently going on. This Plutocracy needs to be blown to bits and we need a new Teddy Roosevelt to do it.

Don't think so boys, but I stand to be corrected. Scott, I hear you about helping people, but how about helping fellow Canadians with Canadian tax dollars, first? The latest figure I've heard is that it'll be over a billion dollars to do this Syrian thing- at a time where there's waiting lists of people who need medical aid, housing and jobs already here. My father-in-law got off the boat from Holland with $47 in his pocket- guess how much the government gave him or his family? You're right- SFA and yet, he managed to have 7 kids and start 2 businesses regardless. Where did we do away with self responsibility? Are the Syrians any less able than all the other immigrants who come here? This is political grandstanding more so than altruism IMHO. Here endeth the sermon.
