Anyone working a swap with the newer 8 speed auto?
« on: May 14, 2016 - 11:06:27 PM »
Curious to see if anyone is trying to tackle a hemi swap with the newer 8 speed auto.  How does the size of this trans differ from say, the NAG1?  What about electronics???  Tricking it into thinking it is in a new car?

Powertain control solutions will most likely be the only one to do it, as far as NAG1, 545RFE, they are the only ones with a stand-alone.

On another note you could figure out which solenoids activate which gear by using an LED bar, and tapping into the solenoids in the VB. Which would allow you to see which gears used which combination of solenoids. From there a program could be made. Or if your insanely tech savvy maybe it could be done thru OB2 port??! I hope someone develops one soon though.

We have kits now that are complete engine management and trans control for all Gen 3 Hemi's and Nag1 and 545RFEs

Joel Applegate is stuffing a 440 Gen3 and an 8HP90 into a 68 Coronet.   STOCK tranny tunnel, dimpled.  I/W.

How are the 8-speed drivers coming?

Tried finding that post again from Facebook with Joel Applegate and the 8 speed install.  Seems to be missing?  I wonder what happened to it and how the progress has been going on the install....anyone know?
