Timing Cover and Water Pump Bolts
« on: May 17, 2016 - 03:08:22 PM »
Hey guys,

Would anyone have a diagram of which hole location these timing cove and water pump bolts go?

Also which ones get the RTV "Right Stuff"  Put on them?  Thanks

I have the E-body fastener guide at home that shows the factory lengths of all those bolts.  I don't have access to it right now however.  Their locations will become pretty clear when you get into it though.  The 4 long ones need the sealant. The second longest bolt goes on the timing cover underneath the water pump inlet.  This one really needs to be looked at closely.  There is very little room between the bolt head and the water pump.  If the bolt hits the water pump, the pump won't sit flush onto the timing cover and can leak.  You might not be able to use a washer on that bolt.  You'll just have to mock up the water pump and see what clearance you have.
