Oil Filter Housing Plug Question
« on: May 17, 2016 - 03:15:29 PM »
Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to assemble my 340.  The 340 is new to me so I have some questions.  I won't say what engines I've build in the past.   :)

Anyway I'm not going to use the 90 degree filter adapter.  I'm going to install the attached Canton Filter plate and then oil filter.

MY QUESTION - Can you tell me if I need to leave in the circled plug in the picture or take it out?  Thanks

Dave

If that plug was in there for use with the 90* adaptor then I'd say it has to stay with the plate

I don't know the answer, but my car has a 340 engine and it came with a 90 oil adapter. I just took it off to get the headers out. I can take a picture in a little and post it for ya.

Edit: I reread your post, missed that your NOT using the 90 adaptor. Sorry I don't have the answer for you.
