4 speed trans

My 4 speed is shot, I need a new one. It's holding up getting my car on the road... I'm in NJ will drive within reason. Pm me with what you have and what you want for it

whats wrong with your 4-speed?   I dont have a 4-speed for sale but I wouldn't mind seeing if I can help rebuild / fix the old one.

Trans shop I brought it to said the input shaft bearing and clutch bearing were melted from getting really hot due to no oil. Are you in the NJ area?

Pictures would really assist in diagnosing the trans. The pilot shaft bearing along with the clutch (throw-out) bearing are basically consumables. The input shaft is replaceable and they are not too bad in price. I pictures of the cover off would help too. Good luck on this one.  :cheers:

i'm down in Washington DC - the input bearing is not a huge deal to replace nor is the throw out bearing.  If the rest of the internals are in good condition it is a fairly straight forward

Think rebuilding this one is a waste. Brewers quoted me 1100 in parts alone.

Still looking...anyone have one they want to part with?
