Shorty plugs for eddy heads

Hey guys, My #2 spark plug boot keeps burning though. I've tried the fireproof sock but that doesnt work either. The problem is the spark plug tip practically touches the header so no matter what I put in there it's going to actually touch the header. Just looking at it , a shorter spark plug should solve the problem but not sure what would work with the edelbrock heads. I use the Champion RC12YC now.
70 cuda, 440, KB pistons, 10.5:1 compression, edlebrock heads,RacerBrown cam, 5-Speed Tremec, Megasquirt EFI

Accel generally has the shortest plugs available

you could also try header wrap, and/or make a thin metal shield
that bolts to a valve cover bolt, in addition to a shorter sparkplug.
I put some 1 inch diatmeter aluminum tubing around my boots, that
I got from an aluminum broom handle. The expensive sock type stuff
can catch fire.

Agreed.  The wife uses those on her 440, but she's running stock heads with headers.

Would adding a dent to your header in that area help?
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

Yes I'm using a 90 degree now and it touches the header. I saw accel plugs and they also sell wires with boots rated to 2000 degrees. I may put one on that plug and see how that works out.

 last resort will be a dent

the 2000 degree rating is for radiant heat, and not contact, I suspect.  If contact, will still burn and melt and catch fire, I suspect.

but, the 2000 degree boots might work if you use some header wrap also.  Also, file down the spot on the boot that is connecting, but not too much.
