WIW? 70 Challenger Convertible 340/518-O/D
« on: May 28, 2016 - 09:44:00 PM »
My Brother is considering selling his Challenger vert.... It was my car back in the early 90's, I reluctantly sold it to offset the cost of building my current Challenger R/T vert... Since then he sent it back to me for a complete restoration, body, paint, interior, engine trans, rear axle suspension, brakes.... It was all done to a high standard..

The car was originally a /6 904 column shift, FE5 Rally Red, Red interior, White top....  It came from the factory with an 8.75 & Disc brakes..

Currently it has a 70 vintage 340 with OE style forged 10,5 pistons, Edelbrock heads & a Comp 268 XE grind...

I put a 518 O/D with 618 planetaries & O/D section in it.. This was probably the first 518 install where the case was trimmed rather than cutting the body... I showed photos on the internet around 2001 & since then quite a few guys have done the same mod...

Rear axle is the original 8.75 but it has 4:30 Strange Gears & a clutch style S/G... With the O/D it goes down the road like a 2.94 gear but it leaves the stop light like a scalded cat...

Body & Paint last time I looked it over was still beautiful, it's been a few years so  can't say for sure but it spends more time in the garage than anywhere else so I suspect it's still primo...

Interior, Just Dashes Pad, Legendary covers made with NOS Salt & Pepper inserts & White skirting...   Door & Rear panels are Palcos, it took some work to make them fit & the grain is wrong but overall they look pretty good...

A/C was blowing cold last time I saw the car...

Overall a very nice driver that could still bring home a trophy from any local show...

So WIW?

Does it have a nice fender tag or sheet?

Anymore pics???

Nice! It would be good to see what it looks like at this moment but i would still say 40 to 50. Starting at 50 and advertise it well.

I would buy it Randy ... but only if I could get a signed 8x10 "smokey burnout" picture with it ... that pic cracks me up!  :smilielol:

Cheers!
