    Lets talk mufflers

    What do you think is the best sounding muffler with a 440? I was thinking Flowmasters 4o series.

    I have Flowmaster 40s on a 340 and Dynomax super turbos on a 440. The two systems are not identical but the 340 sounds better.

    I hvae the Flowmaster 40 on my 440. I like the sound but they are loud.

    I am thinking of going with Borla XR-1's (40943) on my 440 stroker this time around. Problem is that they are center in/out. Hmmm. Borla also just released their Crate Mufflers which sound great imo.

    I had Flowmaster original 40 series on the car before with the 383 and the interior resonance was horrible.

    Agree with the comment about the horrible drone with 40 series. I prefer the sound of Dynomax but have only heard the super turbo, anyone with Ultraflo's?

    I put ultra flows on my 383 and they sounded great and had just the right volume, until the fiberglass burned out in less the 5,000 miles. :swear:

    Personally I feel flowmaster are one of the worst with DynoMax & HOOKER BEING FAR BETTER

    I recently replaced my flowmaster mufflers with Hooker Super Competition Max Flow Mufflers for my 318 Barracuda. 

    I like the Hooker mufflers much better than the flow master ones.  I'm going to get another set for my 1974 Barracuda 440 build.  I'll post a video of the 440 in a few weeks.

    Here's my 318 with new hooker mufflers, 2.5" X pipe, tti long tube headers, 600 cfm holley, eddys performer intake, 302 closed chamber heads, & Lunati Voodoo cam: :cooldancing:

    what´s about magnaflow  ? are they are good choice... shoud be made out of stainless steel also..
