UK 440-6 Pack Cuda, US history
« on: June 03, 2016 - 11:39:41 AM »
Hi, not sure if anyone can directly help on this or they may know someone who can? I'm trying to find out the US history and hopefully the previous owner of my Cuda.

My car is a December 1969 built, 1970 440-6 Pack Cuda. Finer details are as follows: Deep burnt orange metallic, 4 speed, rallye instrument cluster, shaker hood, super track pak, light package, hood tie down pins, LH remote chrome racing mirror, black bucket seat interior.

VIN as follows: BS23VOB207797

Some things I know about the car are that it used to drag race in the US and had a straight rod shifter fitted. Is quite a low mileage car, now still only 37,000 miles and retains all of it's original drive numbers matching drive train.

It was sold at auction in the US and shipped to the UK around 1997 and was sold to a Jeremy North. The people in the US that prepared the car for shipping to the UK were called something along the lines of Pennsylvania Motors or Pennsylvania Motor Sports, now I believe out of business.

Any info or leads as to the original owner(s)would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to build up some history on the car in it's early years in the US.

It's quite a visually striking car so hopefully not easily forgotten and quite an unusual color and options for a V Code 70 Cuda.

Thanks in advance.

Gavin.

A couple of recent pictures of the car. During it's early years it may have had Rallye wheels and a 440 side stripe although I'm not 100% on this. It may have raced with other wheels on of course.

A Rim blow steering wheel was also added over the standard wooden wheel. A couple more pics.

It is A beautiful car! it looks like the fender tag is there. that will tell if it came with hockey stripe or not, would you mind showing it to us?

Here's the full de-code of the tag that the previous owner had done back in 2000(ignore the typo where it says VOA instead of B at the top & bottom) . Doesn't look like it had a Hockey Stripe originally, V6X, plenty of other stuff though.

I'm pretty sure that as it had the V5X Body Side Moldings, the Hockey Stripe became a delete item by default. So initially it must have had body side moldings which were then removed and a black 440 hockey stripe installed.

you could try the internet! writing to them is Another avenue. calling could get expensive but you may have to do that. and of course pay some money to them.  Good luck!
