1970 Cuda sort of a shocker
« on: June 04, 2016 - 06:50:34 PM »

This 383 Automatic Cuda went for 43k? Do folks really go crazy for orange colors?

Something is kinda fishy here (no pun intended)

If orange raises the price that much maybe I should pass on the plum crazy idea....
Ebay brings out the idiots. Cars go for 4-5X what they should.
it is things like Ebay, Reality shows, and televised auctions that are killing this hobby for the average person. Just look at the prices of projects in the last 10-12 years. People think that because this show, or that Ebay auction got X amount for their car then their rotting corpse of a muscle car has to be worth at least half of that. And the bad part is people are paying it! They see the auctions and shows and think the same thing.
1970 Barracuda project in the making!

After seeing all the comments, I had to go back and look at all the pictures, as I only looked at the first 1 or 2. The mirror sure looks like a 71 and up with the longer base and the dash pad has more ripples in it than a lake on a windy day. Either a dash cap or ?? No Barracuda to be seen anywhere on the pad.  :bricks1:

The worse part is that I am looking to buy  a Barracuda myself. Ebay are for more worhless on the market inwhich of condition they are in. I am llooking for one that presents well but the tv shows and rebuild shows killed the market. What I mean is they want top dollar for crap

Could it maybe be that someone has been saving money for quite some time by cutting back on other things like vacations, staying out of bars, walking to work to save on gas, or whatever to save his or her money just to buy their dream car no matter what the cost. Maybe its not a flip car. I read on this site all the time "it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it". We all know they only made so many of these cars. Maybe he the buyer can't drive stick for some reason or didn't want to wait a lifetime to find the perfect car. It might not be perfect for you but maybe it's perfect for him. Maybe he doesn't have the time for restoring a car and wanted a driver that looks good. And just scored, in their mind. Maybe it was close to his house. We don't know their reason. But it's pretty shallow to knock any of their reasons. They might be really excited like I was when I got my car and want to join some forums to meet people and feel involved and maybe make some friends, Hopefully they don't join this one and read this post though. I mean who wants to hear everything that is wrong, in other peoples eyes, with their new prized possesion. Or that they were called an idiot and everything else.

Easy fella, everything will be alright if you want it to be. We would not want to hurt anyone's feeling just because we think their car is somewhat lacking.
