1970 Cuda sort of a shocker

Not hurting my feelings whatsoever. Your probably one of the guys that asks twice as much for their house when they sell it too and let the negotiating come down. Why, because you want to get the most for it. Or are you really someone that says maybe I'll take 50 grand less cause I'm a nice guy and the markets not that strong so I will give it away. It kills me when people say tv shows , ebay, etc. Is ruining the hobby. If they wanted 20 grand for the car there would be to much competition to buy it anyways and your chances of getting it would be less. If you can't afford this hobby, my suggestion is to find another one. Collect post cards or build bird houses or something. Maybe choose a different car to have a hobby with. They have a name for people like that . It's called tire kickers. The whiners that complain about the prices are what's ruining the hobby. Save your money and get a life. Someone stated "it makes our cars worth more". That's being a hypocrite. I have an idea. Why doesn't everyone post a pic of their car and let us know what you paid for it and how much you have stuck into it. Sure it was 3000 about 40 years ago but prices go up. Think before you speak.

You called it Mr, I just cannot afford the prices in this hobby any more. Terrible when you cannot buy a Hemi Challenger for $800.

I started this thread mainly because what I see on ebay (more like skeezbay) is that folks have their friends shill up the price in hopes of ensnaring someone at the top and making off.

As someone who recently sold a 70 Cuda in nice shape this one is nowhere near the level I had and he actually got more. So either the sale is legit and some nutjob wanted an orange paintjob (terrible one) or it's shill city.

I believe it's the latter.

your right on hp. Some people think they have a gold mine in there car. I took a 6 hr drive to look at a 70 cuda 340 pictures looked good and the gentlemen was honest about the car I thought. He started the car up and was hard to start  I should say. We took it for a ride and she was loose front end and I mean this was a 35 k car he wanted. Now the body was good but undercarrage needed some attn. Not to mention int. Now 35k would of been good ifIt was turn key but it wasn't. I laid 25 k on the hood and he said no. 35 k was what he wanted and that is it. I should say that I left there and 3 days later he called me back and said he would take the 25 k and I said its worth 22k to me now and he said F * to me. The moral of the story is you don't mine spending if it is worth it .Some peopl just don't know the market  anddont care how much they spend they just have to have it.

The price did seem a little high for the condition of the car. He was just patching/ the car without really restoring to keep it looking decent.
I saw a Challenger RT SE 440 automatic car last year being sold by the owner on Flea Bay
Car was original, a driver, worn but not abused in somewhat better shape then this Cuda
Car sold for 27 k, which I thought was somewhat low for a big block RT SE  (I know the market is a little different for Challengers and Cudas, especially for specific years and models) BUT
You just never know what someone will pay.

I've seen cleaner 70 - 340 Cudas sell in the mid 30's range

I do think a lot of people have Barret Jackson envy  or (psychosis) whatever you want to call it.
There are a ton of cars coming on to the market in the last few years, some realistic, some with owners dreaming. Many have been sitting around for years and the owners are coming into the reality that they will never restore the car,

I'm glad that he got two years tuition for his daughter at a state college!  If in fact it was a true sale, she's a lucky girl.
