Project 69 Fastback
318 Auto, Bucket Seat, Column Shift Car. No Engine, Needs everything and then some.
Only been Titled once... by the original owner.

Purchased: 3/26/2016
Target completion date: 3/25/2017
Drivetrain: G3 Hemi engine, 727 reverse valve body manual shift automatic transmission A-Body Console, 8-3/4 Sure Grip.
Already has Big Bolt Front Disc and 8-3/4 Rear. Not sure how much will be usable.
Suspension... TBD. Dylan would like Pro Touring but I do have to set some limits... We'll see.
I will start adding progress updates here as we go.

So far it's been a lot of disassembly, bag and tag, lots of pictures to help with putting it back together and lots of researching and ordering parts.
Getting it ready for Media Blasting.
Will be getting  both rear full quarter panels, full trunk floor, trunk extensions, front and rear valances... All have been ordered - All AMD
Lot's of big boxes starting to fill up the living room. Quarters are back ordered...

Thank you to everyone that has done this before and shared their projects. Too many to name...
You all are an inspiration to guys like me that enjoy the cars but have never jumped in with both feet neck deep! Limited experience but a willingness to put in the effort.
It will be a learning adventure for both me and Dylan. He will have a real appreciation and investment in ownership. I use the term investment very loosely...
Expecting to be upside down and under water but it's more about the journey than the price.

My first car was a 69 Fastback, 318 Auto... This will be Dylan's first car when we are done.

Day one 3/26/2016
Stopped to buy the trailer on my way to Vancouver WA. Tilt bed with a beaver tail.





Here is a tip I found, it works great!
My rain gutter trim removal tool. Start at one end and work your way to the other.

man, I coulda used that tool last weekend when I took my trim off! I was gentle, and it came off without twisting, but what a great re-purposed tool!  Can't wait to see more on the '69.  I am a sucker for A-bodies!

Received my window trim removal tool and windshield removal tool from Amazon.
Put them to use yesterday. Got the front and rear trim off and the windshield out.
Removed and stripped the dash. Removed the Wiper linkage and all of the wiring harnesses. Removed the heater box and drivers side vent box.
The bottom of the Dash Frame is pretty rusty and may not be worth the effort to save if I can find a decent one for a good price.

Found a rust hole in the drivers side windshield channel.

Looks like a ton of work but it will be a beauty when its done. I really like the fastback style.

I found a Dash Frame from Wildcat Mopars in Sandy Oregon.
$175 + $55 For the Brown Truck Ride.

Also got the back window out safely. 



Debating whether to buy a rotisserie, rotisserie kit or use the free internet plans to build one.
Of course that would mean learn to weld too. How hard can it be? Right?
Otherwise it will be send the 17 year old under it on jack stands with a torch and putty knife to get all the undercoating off.
I'm conflicted... should I rob my son the pleasure of hours of laying on concrete on his back with both arms extended and hot scrapings falling on him?
Seems it would be selfish of me to take that away from him...

Not having one to make him pay will ultimately make you pay.

Leaning towards the rotisserie. Heard of a kit that uses trailer hubs and spins easy.
Going to see if I can find one. Will sell it when I'm done with it.

I'd certainly do it again. Not as nice as a rotisserie, but it served it's purpose and I don't feel obligated to hang onto it somewhere or lose my tail selling it second hand.
