Mike,

Would you mind measuring your Viper and Neon seats and posting the height and widths?
I really like the look of the viper seats but I like the Neon SRT seats too. These Neon SRT-4 seats are $349 plus freight.

Will be interested to know what you go with seating wise, the original seats look nice but everyone knows they offer very little support and are uncomfortable.

Sure, it will be later today, I have to attend a expo in Tacoma. The seats you just spent a picture of are exactly what I have for my Cuda. I think they fit into the car well (had to adapt the original seat brackets).

So I measured them

The Neon SRT seats are 35" tall, 20.5" wide (widest point on the base) and 21.5" wide (widest point on the back)

The Viper seats are 35" tall, 21" wide (widest point on the base) and 19.5" wide (widest point on the back)

With that said, there are some caveats; first,

- while I am confident the height measurement on the viper seats are accurate, they are still in the car so I cannot be 100% it is super accurate.

- Also, the viper seats do not recline, at least mine do not whereas the SRT seats do.

- Viper seats (gen II) all crack in the seams, replacement covers are $700+

- SRT seats are cloth and vinyl, you can get replacement covers but they are around $700+ as well (leather). I intend to have mine redone by a custom shop which I am sure will cost $1000

When I was trying to decide on seats for my Cuda, I looked at the Viper seats, but as I recall, the "no recline" aspect plus the initial cost is what got me to go SRT.

hope this helpful.

Thanks Mike!
The no recline is a no go for the Viper seats. Was planning to have an upholstery shop cover either with new leather also.
May do the rear with the stock black deluxe covers myself and then have the fronts covers made to match.
That helps a bunch.

My son likes the neon seats but he likes these on ebay too for $235 + free shipping
Will need to fab floor brackets either way. Have some time to think about it.

the seats I have are the also available on Ebay for like $208 - $230 with free shipping. I don't know I could match that, they are not great seats but when you need some they would come in handy. There are lots to choose from on Ebay. I used factory runners on my SRT seats, I mean factory to the Cuda. I just adapted them to the SRT seats.

I like the slotted opening a little better, a little more subtle.
I'm on the fence right now with the Neon vs Ebay seats... I'll just let Dylan pick.  :2thumbs:

I could drive 2-3 hours straight in mine.
I never thought they're that bad.   :2cents:

Of course I'm not trying to be Speed Racer of the Trans Am's either.

Not worth it to try to save these IMO...
Frames and springs are pretty well rusted out too. Stripped the rear bench hoping to save it but ended up buying a replacement from Wildcat Mopars [Sandy Oregon].
More rust than metal left in the original...

By the way, you can get the seat belt harness for the Neon SRT seats, I bought mine from TASCA (I think), but there I someone online doing them out of fiberglass (originals were ABS). I believe the early Neon ACRs came this way (like the Viper ACRs did).

I ended up after a lot of searching on the neon forum finding the part numbers for the rear and front piece. I then googled those numbers and found them on TASCA (I think that is the name); they were cheap; like $28 per set. I am traveling so I cannot dig around to find the numbers, but there is a list on one of the neon sites that almost if not every Neon interior part (99 ACR I believe); if you can find that, you can find the part numbers. They also had the PN for replacement seat covers, however they appear to be made of gold or something as they are as much as getting custom upholstery.

Those other inserts look nice as well.
