Thanks Mike.
I thought about taking it to Totally Auto to see what they would charge to restore it but decided to see how it would look if I just gave it a try first.
I figured if I didn't like how it turned out it would still cost the same to have it restored.
All it cost me was some left over rattle can paint and primer and a little time. Wish everything was that easy!  Here's to small victories.

Can't call it restored but cleaned up and painted works for me.

Everytime you post pictures like this, all I see is a grey spot with a minus line inside of it.

Your image links are freakin huge. Longer than a paragraph.

Try a different way. Cuz that's not working.

I am having a brand new 3rd member built for the G3 Hemi 69 by Randy's Ring & Pinion.
Plan is for 380-460 HP depending on which crate we decide on.

All New 8-3/4
489 case
large yoke
Dana Power-Lok

They offer "Smooth" or "Aggressive" setup.

Their description:
"The aggressive one might chatter around turns but would lay down bigger power better."

Would like to hear other thoughts. I don't mind the little eek eek eek I get sometimes turning a tight corner.
I could be convinced that smoother is better for non competition driving.  :dunno:

The other question I have is which gear ratio?

Going to be a cruiser/show and go car, never driven in the rain.

At first I was thinking 3.55 with the 727 + Gearvendors OD .78 so 3.55x.78=2.7 in OD
2.7:1 with 25.7" tall tire = 2354 RPM at 65 MPH Nice!
3.55:1 with 25.7" tall tire = 3017 RPM at 65 MPH This what I have in the ragtop. It needs a GV too.

But with the GV I'm thinking I could go a little lower for good stop light to stop light city driving and in OD still have a decent RPM at cruise.

3.73 with the 727 + Gearvendors OD .78 so 3.73x.78=2.9 in OD
2.9:1 with 25.7" tall tire = 2464 RPM at 65 MPH Still pretty darn good! Could hit the Power Tour and still cruise pretty comfortable.

Please chime in with your thoughts.

The Calculator I used:
http://www.advanced-ev.com/Calculators/TireSize/?ratio=3.2

Thanks in advance!

I just cleaned them up. Cost me $40 to have them welded.
Got to try welding something one of these days but not something you can see...   :scared:
