Challenger Hinges
« on: June 15, 2016 - 09:36:21 AM »
Need advice on adjusting my hood on the 70 challenger. I bought new AMD hinges and have them semi adjusted but it is still sitting about 3/4" too far back and I am out of adjustment room forward on the hinges attached to the hood.

I've never seen that problem. When looking at the bolt the entire slot should be behind the bolt or on the right side of the bolt. If it is you may need to make the slots longer :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

from what I can tell I have it slid all the way forward in those slots. I was hoping that making the slots longer was not an option. I thought AMD was supposed to be good stuff

Are you sure they are the right hinges? Aren't the 70 hinges one year only? Or maybe I'm wrong on that.  :dunno:

only different between 70 and 71-4 was the rivets and I believe the number of teeth on the hinge used.

with in the hinge there should have been an adjustment instruction sheet. IF not Contact Stephens performance as they are the source for those. Just supplied through AMD or Stephens.

sounds to me that the 2 front bolts on the hinge need to be pushed down. which is the opposite to adjust.

Dave, what do you mean by the opposite to adjust. Ill have to look at the hinges tonight to see where everything is sitting. It is super difficult to adjust these buggers by myself.
