Rallye gauges dont work fine
« on: June 15, 2016 - 01:48:35 PM »
Hello to all

I have a problem in the rallye gauges. The fuel level and the oil pressure are out of scale

And the tachometer sometimes work and sometimes dont....

The out of scale is after a dash change and its possible a wire change.... But I dont know

Thanks and best regards

May sound stupid, but its easy to do......... make sure you do not have the fuel and oil wires mixed up on the back side of gauges.

I think the wire colors are stamped on the back of the instrument panel. I found this photo on a forum and it was not taken by me. I think it was somewhere on this forum. Apologies to the owner of the photo, which was helpful to me at the time.

Rafilla, do a forum search or google search.  There are several threads on it.  First thing you have to do is lower the steering column.  It's been a long time since I did mine but used forum searches to figure it out.  Good luck.

I suggest you remove the seats so that you can easily look at the back side of the gauges and MAYBE you will get lucky and find places where wires are on the wrong gauge or maybe not hooked up at all. Take LOTS of pics from different angles before you remove any wires.

Might  be able to lay on your back with a shop mirror and check to see if it's wired right

Here's a pic of mine before I removed it:

Regulator be stuck on 12vdc instead of pulsing.  If your wiring is ok, you need a new regulator.
