Here's my engine specs. I'd be interested in your thoughts on my build. I'm hoping for about 500hp/500tq at the wheels. Reckon I'll make it?
I decided not to stroke the original 340 as I would be left over with parts that wouldn't be worth that much and i wanted to go for alloy heads. I decided to fork out the money for a new MP 340 block (ouch) and flip the complete 340 as I'd get more for it running. In retrospect (been doing a lot of that) I should have gone for a big block but I'd already bought the gear box kit and other parts
I kept the 6 pack set up to reuse and I like the idea of big, small blocks.
The parts:
MP 340 block, Scat forged rotating assembly (swapping out I beam rods for H beam)
Edelbrock performer heads, Comp roller lifters, Crane 1.6 rockers, Comp roller cam (grind not confirmed yet)
Milodon race pan & windage tray, ARP bolt set
MP 6 pack intake, TTI ceramic headers, MSD ignition
Rotating assembly has been balanced, heads ported, seats cut, intake was going to be ported with abrasive compound but engine builder said it flowed OK so he just opened up a little what he could get to. Compression will be around 11:1.
I know the cam choice will be critical and I'm looking for the best of both worlds, loppy sound with good manners. I dont plan on racing it so it will be really just a street car. Do you think I will get close to my power target?
Here are some pics.
