Well that rots! Tough call.... Easier to cut the k-frame with the engine assembled already?

X 2 - K Frame wont leak if there is a hole.... also a lot thicker and easier to modify and retain the strength.

Update time.  :aussie:

Finally got the 318 mounts in from Schumacher. Mike was great to deal with and got the order out straight away. After some dummy fittings we cut the K-member on the engine mount block, where the Milodon pan was fouling on the drivers side. At least we knew we were in for this before. Plenty of clearance now.

Getting the drivers side engine mounts to fit up to the K-member was a PITA! The engine mount bolt holes on the K-member have tubes welded into them and they misaligned by like 2 mm. With everything lose, pry bars, grunting & plenty of swearing we finally got it to line up and tightened everything up.

To mount the headers on the passenger side, the oil filter had to come out and you guessed it, no room for the large filter to go back on. Will replace it with a short type. Are there any issues with running short filters? On the drivers side, the steering column had to come out. No big deal. They look pretty cool.  The TTI headers have quite a gap when you put a straight edge on them (see picture). They seemed to tighten up OK, so I hope they don't leak. Anyone had any experience with exhaust leaks?

The TKO 600 mounting was pretty straightforward, but looks really tight on the passenger side now, opposite to the patch panel. I wonder if it shrunk during welding on the trans hump?!?! There is now about 1/4 inch gap on one spot of the tunnel I hope will be enough.

I'm getting pretty excited now about having it back on the road for Christmas & summer.

The flanges on my full length TTI's were like that.  They pulled up to the head easily when the bolts were tightened though.  Never ran the car with them so I don't know if there would have been a problem with leaks...I doubt it.

Can you run a remote oil filter? Canton makes some good ones that I've used on other projects.

Yes, that was a thought. I was thinking if I did that I might mount a small in line oil cooler too. In summer, we get heavy traffic with 100 degree F temps often. I'm just wondering if a cooler will be overkill?

Did you paint the valve covers yourself or buy them that way? They look like mine except for the paint.

I bought them like that. I think from Jegs or Roseville. It was a while ago now. I think they look killer.
