LOOKING FOR 318 and 904
« on: June 17, 2016 - 05:28:46 AM »
Hello guys, I`m looking for a 318 engine and a 904 transmission. I can throw in some cash if needed but I`m posting here as i know that most of the times, people are throwing this engines away.

I`m located in Europe but i would arrange shipping with pick-up from your location and pay for the packaging.

thank you in advance!

Have you checked on how the items would need to be crated and a shipping cost yet? I do have what you are looking for, you should be sure the cost is acceptable before a lot of time is spent on this end. If you really want it, it is yours. I would only want pallet/crating costs.  :dunno: :clueless:

I can help to. You want running or non running?  Do you want an older good running engine with a bit better compression or an engine that you will be going through for restoration or turbo purpopes?  I can't spell good and have cataracs so forgive the typing.Maybe a 360 I may have laying around ?  What's the build for your sig pic?

Hello guys and thanks for replying. The engine I`m looking for would ideally be a 1970 or late 69 for my 70 challenger. If it`s a runner, that would be great but anyways at one point, will be completely overhauled and kept original.

I can get a shipping quotation if i could know the dimensions and weight.

I`m just shipping a roof skin from California to Cyprus and it costs me about 600$ due to it`s volume. so i guess that an engine and gearbox should me somewhere there also.

Not to highjack this, but If others strike out..... I think the 318 and 904 out of my '70 Challenger is still around as I've cloned her up to a 440 6 pack, so highly unlikely I will ever put her back to original.  Let me know, as I may have to do some searching.    As to shipping, I think the weight difference (motor/tranny vs. roof skin) will be significantly more.....  This would be coming from Vermont....

Hello and thank you for offering. The difference in weight will not be very big as the roof was calculated for volumetric weight. Is there anyone able to tell me how much would the 318 and the 904 weight with no fluids inside? Only by knowing this and the dimension of the package (pallets) would get me a real quote.

Thank you guys and i hope i will be able to repay everyone one day

just had a quotation with pick-up from your location for a 500kg and 1.5 CBM of 700 EUR which is about 800$ plus import taxes, custom clearance, vat, etc. so it will roughly cost me about 1300$ to bring it over which is doable.

The engine is estimated to be about 650lbs and i estimated the gearbox to be about 250lbs. Is any (normal) person able to lift that gearbox by himself? :)

Hi.   The 318 and 904 out of my '70 are at a local shop (guys who work on my cars).    They can get them ready for shipment (remove fluids, etc) and secured on a pallet from your shipping company.    The motor & Tranny have been sitting for several years since I restored my challenger.   If I recall, the motor had about 150,000 miles on it when pulled.   It will take them a few hours to get everything ready for the shipment, so I suspect you're looking at about $200 to ready them for pickup.   I assume you want the original air cleaner, manifolds, etc.....      If you're still interested, contact me directly at dwacek@comcast.net and we can finalize arrangements....

Arrangements are being made to ship my 318 & 904 to Alex in Cyprus.   Delighted to give him a hand in restoring his '70 Challenger!
