nw suspension
« on: June 20, 2016 - 05:17:28 PM »
Well, I just finished upgrading my whole suspension. I used Hotchkis rear leaf springs, torsion bars, pivot pins, larger front sway bar, upper control arms and shocks. I welded the stiffing plates to the lower control arms. I also added a Dr. Diff master cylinder to go along with the Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes. I took the car out for a little test spin but I still need to align the front end. Defiantly handles and rides better. It's still stiff but much more controlled and not skittish when going over bumps. When I go around a corner the steering wheel wants to center itself way better than before. As is the car tracks and bakes straight. The brake pedal feels much better with the new master. So far so good.

Great job!!  I have a big mix of XV parts and now Hotchkis parts.  I love the ride and handling of my cuda.  My strut rod bushing just died, so I am upgrading with the Hotchkis strut rods with no bushings.  I have been waiting for a few weeks already.  I hope it is worth the wait.  Everything else has been worth it so far.  Getting quality brakes are such a good investment.  You will be really amazed when you get some miles on and find yourself driving hard and loving every second of it.  Next thing you know, you may try an autocross event!!?? :poopoke:

Sweet! I have all the same suspension components in my build. What wilwood kit did you go with? I'm debating upgrading them now if funds allows...

I went with the Wilwood Dynalite Pro series. It was mostly a looks thing. With the wheels I'm using rear drum brakes just didn't look right. Plus since I have 17" in front and 18" in the rear I like the drum style E-brake system because the rotors are bigger than the front rotors and the whole thing just looks more symmetrical.
