I just wanted to check back in to see if anyone has done any testing with the front Viking B202's. I have been driving my car with the Viking B217 rear's set at 2/5 and I am happy with the traction and the ride on the street with this setup.
I just purchased a set for the front and waiting on the delivery. I am thinking of starting with 3/6 for the first test drive. Just curious if anyone has some street time with the fronts.
(Ref: Cooper 245/60R15's, stock .092" bars, Nitto 275/60R15's and #043 rear springs)
I want to test these new front shocks and then see if I need to upgrade the torsion bars or not.

 Thanks

I installed the B202's on the front of my Challenger and the fit was great. I used the thickest bushing and I would suggest using some type of lube to get the lower part of the shock in place. I did not and had to press firmly to get it in place. I also found that leaving the shock at the stock setting allowed for easier install when inserting the top of the shock in place.
The size and length of my Monroes were very close to the new Vikings.

YO7 -- T/anks for the update!   Regarding the TBs, the .92 are still rather weak, as IF/WHEN you eventually upgrade to ~1.12, you'll wonder why you didn't upgrade the TBs sooner.   On of the biggest advantages of larger TBs is that they will reduce the front end DIVE (and lift) during hard breaking and cornering.    (I run 1.24 dia TBs).

Mitch,
I had a delay in purchasing these shocks and I was hoping to be ready for torsion bars by now. But I finally got a chance to get the shocks so when I am done playing with them, then I hope to be able to take your suggestion on the 1.12"-1.18" torsion bars later this year.
 Thank you again Mitch!
 Dave

Shock setting update:
I finally got to take my first test drive with the new front shocks set at 3/6. The ride was a little bit bumpy/bouncy/stiff, so I am planning on testing 2/5 to see if this dampens the feel a tad.
Note: the rears have been set at the same 2/5 for several drives now.

T/Anks for the update.  The bigger TBs will make a good compliment to the shocks.   Then play a little with your tire psi f/r to get a better feel for your comfort... not too low, but not too high.  the 60-series tires will give good comfort and still some decent cornering, but it depends on hard/aggressive you typically drive, and the roads (hopefully somewhat smooth as opposed to city bumpy roads).

I forget.. what is your engine.. sb or bb?   air-cond or not?   The front end weight is noticeably different and plays a factor.

Later, you may want to get different sway bars later.  I run 1.25 f, 1.0 rear.  the common .75  rear bar is too small... consider at least .875 or a custom 1.0 rear bar.

Mitch,
I run an aluminum head 340 with no AC and a 727. I also run the stock front sway bar and a .75" rear bar. I have been testing with 26psi in the 275 Nittos and 30psi up front with the 245's. I need to drive these shocks for a while but I am thinking that the front sway bar may need to be up sized first. What do you think?
 Thank you!

You're headed in the right direction overall... the very small stock front sway bar (~.94") should eventually be replaced by at least 1.125 (1-1/8"), but while you're at it, just go 1.25".   The current aftermarket offerings of only .75 or .875 are still too small... to balance with a 1.25 front.  so, you can request FF to make you a custom 1.00" rear sway bar.. that's how they should be matched... its my setup for over past 35 years... works great!

Mitch,
Since FF makes a 1-1/8" kit, would that match my existing 3/4" rear bar better? I am just trying to keep from buying more parts if I can. I know the front is small, I can feel it on curves.
Torsion Bars: I don't feel the front diving on hard braking. My front end is very sold d. I can stand on the front bumper and the car barely moves downward.
 I appreciate your replies!
Dave

Hi Dave... the 1.1/8" front bar is OK, but you'll have to re-learn the whole car after a while... it'll drive/handle/corner differently than what you were used to.  Actually, you'll have more understeer (front-end push) until you re-learn the car with how it'll corner differently.  Add stiffer rear leafs, or tighten the rear adjustable shocks .. if you have them.  Hoenstly, there should be a .875" or 1.00" rear sway bar available ... heck, I should just make them and sell them.. you'be amazed at the better balance the larger rear bar will give.  Remember, our cars are already front-end heavy which causes more understeer (plowing); the larger rear bar (1.00" most desirable) helps balance the handling... especially when a larger front bar is introduced.

Having a factory size rear bar of .75" ... and the front bar of 1.1/8" or 1.1/4" is ok... just re-learn the car's handling.

Thank you Mitch! I appreciate your replies!

Update: After a few drives on these shocks, I like both front/rear setup at 3/5.
