1969 Charger

1969 Charger, XP 383 car. Now has a strong 440 (I'm told). Restored 20-25 years ago. Was obviously in a collision at one point because there are still wrinkles on the right inner fender. A little rust is starting to show in front of right rear wheel well. Yes a gas cap on each fender! (no idea why) Otherwise decent condition. I would call it an ok driver. Interior appears good original. Fendertag is missing. Other than the compressor and the dash, ALL A/C components have been removed and are gone. Any opinions on WIW are appreciated. Thanks

Pics of interior and undercarriage (frame rails, floor pans, trunk pan)?  All electrical in working condition? Manual or Auto?  Drums or Disc brakes? Does it have dual fuel tanks?  You do know there is a lot more rust that what is showing right?

Hi wouldn't start the car due to a dead battery. No dual tanks. The second cap is just a hole into the trunk. Floors and frame rails look good to me. Auto. Disc brakes. He says all electrical works so we will assume that. He has 2 seperate alarms on it and the a/c heater box is gone. Ya I feel there is rust lurking. Surface rust visible on trunk floor and gutters. He started at 60k (thanks to B-J) and he's convinced it's easily worth 30-35k. I want to buy it but I don't feel it's worth that much.

   Based on the high demand for '69's $20-25k.  The guy is crazy asking $35k let alone $60k for a base 383 non-numbers Charger with hidden rust. Unfortunately it will cost you at least $60k to do a complete restoration and it will be worth $40-45k in the end.  Your other choice would be to make it mechanically safe and reliable and enjoy it as is.

I think $25k is a bit generous. I'd have a hard time paying more then $20k.

I was just today talking to a friend of mine about a 69 charger he has setting up to build. He/we have a lot of cars, but don't really like to sell. But anyway, has most everything there and new legendary interior to be installed. Had new trunk pan installed nstuff. sets in a lean two. 6k  That's the kind of starting price I like when doing a project restoration. It doesn't bite ya so bad.  That blue car has issues, I'd pass.
