70 B'cuda vert rear seat bottom
« on: June 28, 2016 - 06:26:20 AM »
I've just pulled the carpets out of my 70 Bcuda vert.  The rear seat bottom was in REAL tight.  The seat bottoms' catches were over the back side of the floors' catches, necessitating using a long bar to get to the individual hasp to push it back and up, then, on to the other side to remove the seat bottom.
Is there a difference between the Coupe rear seat bottom and the Convertible rear seat bottom?

From my understanding, the bottom rear seat for both are the same. it's the upper rear seat portion that differs from a coupe to a vert.

That is exactly how mine is (70 Barracuda convertible)and the exact same way I have to remove it. When I install the seat bottom int the "normal" catch position there is a huge noticeable gap between the seat bottom and seat back. I've tried bending that bar on the underside of the seat bottom but still ended up with that huge gap. Now I just accept it the way it is. I have seen some cars with 2 of those catches welded to the rear floor but mine only ever had just one.

What a shame.

Mine doesn't seem to be that hard to install and remove. Not sure what you both are talkin about I guess. I mean I think I know but not really sure.
