I agree with Brad on the qft carbs.. I have the 850 cfm black Diamond ss model. Best carb i ever owned.  I like the choke myself ant it helps with startup. Probably sacrifices a bit of primary airflow,  but seeing as i drive my car until the snow flies,  in Canada there can be a lot of sub zero starts.

My builder went with a summit racing brand sfi balancer. I think it was around $150

Mocking up the engine and checking clearances.  Rod side to side clearance is .020 across all journals.  Anybody have any concerns / thoughts?
