They only used one "space" for the month. January=1 February=2....September=9.  Since they only used one "space" for the month, they couldn't use 10 for October.  They used letters instead. October=A November=B December=C

So, C12 is December 12th.  That is the day they initially "planned" to build the car.  It could have been built weeks before or after that date.

Yep your car was built December 12 of 69.
My Challenger was built on B20--November 20 of 69 and my Door Sticker also says 12-69. I was told that the date differ sometimes because if the car was built but missing a part or had some damage if got put off to the side until it was completed or fixed and then the door sticker was applied at that time. I know when I restored my car I found 3 very small door dings with some filler on them under the original paint which may have caused a delay in finishing the car. Anybody else have different dates ?

The date is the Scheduled Production Date. It doesn't mean the car was necessarily built that day. I could be or it could have been earlier or later depending one many factors such as parts availability.

Yep, most power sunroof cars will have a SPD of one month, and a door sticker with the following month on it - as it took anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks to get the sunroof installed.
