So what motor oil is everybody running these days. Thanks to the EPA and the removal of Zinc from the oil which is a lubricant  and people started wiping out cam bearings because it is no longer in the oil what are you running ?

EPA hasn't "gotten to" Gibbs Racing and their Driven Racing Hot Rod oils. We use their Conventional ("dinosaur") oils (not to be confused with their synthetics) and nothing but. Comes in 3 weights and, as far as I have been able to determine, has the highest % of zinc available: http://www.drivenracingoil.com/dro/products/hot-rod-engine-oilshtml

Best o' Success!

Cheapest oil from Walmart and Lucas break in additive.
I can't justify paying $6-9 a quart for "racing" oil.
$15 will get you a bottle of Lucas good for 3 oil changes.

I've never cared and never had an oil related problem. Other than leaks...lol.

I have seen / fixed  too many wiped cams to overlook the oil .

It makes a mess , metal everywhere  engine has to be torn down & cleaned out  new oil pump ,  an once of prevention as they say .....

B N D Automotive. Brian will make you any oil you need with whatever additives your application requires. By far the best option out there. A  custom mixed oil doesn't get any better.

I like this, can't beat Walmart oil prices, at least around here. So I needed something to get me over the top for free shipping from summit and this did it. Thanks good info.
