I have been busy doing a lot of research for all of the stuff I need to obtain. The harness and ECM is coming along with the tank, pump, sending unit and straps. Still have to purchase all of the stuff to connect everything (fuel lines, filter, reg, etc). I thought I would post some costing for anyone thinking about doing this; yes I know it is expensive but it is what it is. You could probably do it cheaper in some ways but I went with some suggestions from F&B and FASTMAN as they know what works.

Here is the costing. Everything in the far right column is what I have paid for, things in the "est" column are costs I extracted from Summit or elsewhere.

Enjoy

UPDATE

I purchased all of the remaining items I believe I need except the injectors, but I am waiting on F&B to tell me what that bill is.

I received my tank, pump, straps and sending unit today. Seems line a nice unit.

Very neat project. Not that most of us are too concerned with gas mileage on these hotrods, but what is generally the improvement in fuel consumption? How easy is it to tune/program the system?

Supposedly the Holley system is easy to tune, however I wont know until I get it installed and running. I have a FAST XFI system on my Cuda (which isn't running yet) and it will be different software, but it is supposed to be easy as well albeit different. I can say, the XFI comes with a hand held tuner whereas the Holley system comes with software and cable for a laptop, so we will see. Some would say (and have said) that I should be using 1 common system, however in my mind I don't have an issue with 2 different types as it will broaden my experience (easy to say now).

here are some new parts. It might be of note that you have to run a dual sync distributor with a Mopar EFI system to general the correct signals (cam and crank) which I did not understand when I was buying parts for the Cuda. I bought a "MSD Ready to run" distributor for my SB only to find out now that this is not going to work (at least well); so there is another distributor for that car in my future.

Just waiting on the intake and I should be good.

Its been a little while, but I have been waiting on the intake which I received yesterday. I shouldn't be impressed by this since I already have one on my Cuda, but I cannot help but smile looking at this intake; a thing of beauty for sure.

So I am now at the moral dilemma in that I am just moving forward on the Cuda, however I now have all of the parts to do the conversion of the Challenger... Who am I kidding, I will be doing the Challenger immediately :)

One issue that I have to think about is where to put the IAT (Intake Air Sensor); talking to Bruce at F&B, he is recommending it be put it into the AC; which is fine but that base was a little expensive...

Cool stuff!  :clapping:   I have an Edelbrock STR-14 intake that I bought with the intentions of converting to EFI. Hiding the injectors under the lid. I have 2 lids , a single 4bbl and a 6 pack.  The cost is holding me back....  :grinyes:

I had something like that at one point, but it was a Weiland and it had a 6 pack top. A friend really wanted it and I didn't have a need for it, so I gave it to him. In this situation, Bruce gave me the option of the Eddy intake or a Indy Mod-man which I really like, however he told me that for stock or slightly modified engines the Eddy was a better choice, so that is where I went.

One issue that I have to think about is where to put the IAT (Intake Air Sensor); talking to Bruce at F&B, he is recommending it be put it into the AC;

You mean the air intake temperature sensor?  They told you to put it in the AC as in air conditioning?  If that's what they meant the computer will think you have a nice cold air charge and will richen the mixture,  but your intake air is really a lot warmer, so you will be running real rich,    I think it should go between the air filter and your throttle bodies to get a true measurement and let the computer do its job properly.

But I'm not an expert, that's just the way I did mine with Megasquirt EFI   I do wonder why he  (Bruce at F&B) recommended that and what the reasoning is.

Good luck,

Dan

Thanks all, I was trying to get some things done on the Cuda before I start on the Challenger, but that is about to come to an end as I am going to start the Challenger tomorrow I think. I had to order a new intake gasket w/o heat cross overs which I will get tomorrow. Tomorrow is a good day to begin as it is my B-day.... :)
