Got the regulator mounted and all of the lines.

got distracted today because I had to pick up some new toys, just need to figure out where to put them.

Great work.  I have been running my EFI 6Pac for over three years now, without any issues, and I love it.  Be prepared to stand by your car and answer a lot of questions the first few time you take it to a show.  :grinyes:

What ECU are you using? FAST? 

I am running mine on a 440, 500 hp and 535 TQ. Feel free to ask my any questions you may have. Rich (Fastman) is a great source of knowledge.

Glad you found it, I can use all of the advice I can get. I am running a Holley ECU on this car as per a recommendation from Rich; in fact I bought the ECU, Harness and Dizzy from him. I am muddling my way through it slowly. I am about to pull the seats so I have some room to move around and install the harness. I could get this done faster, but work, life and my recent tire changer & balancer purchase have delayed my efforts slightly.

I have the same system on my Cuda (which still isn't running) except I am running a FAST EZ system on that car.

I received my new WP housing, pump and neck as well as the Tstat spacer; after looking at both I believe I am going with the spacer. Less work and I think that it will get the job done better. The WP housing does have a gauge/sensor inlet on both sides, but the one on the left side in like 1/4" which will not help the ECU temp sensor or the mech gauge. I could drill it out and retap it but the spacer works as it (so long as it seals, which is not a given as it has a O ring on the bottom).

Wish I had more to relate but it continues to move slowly. I did manage to get the MSD mounting plate made and set up, the headlight relays and fuses relocated. I went to install the distributor and discovered that that there was some flashing on the head that had to be removed, that took some time, they I have relocate the wiring that normally lays beside the intake as there is zero room by the distributor for it to run; that caused me to have to lengthen 2 wires. While I was working on it I discovered that the water pump was seeping, so I removed and fixed that.

I am now trying to figure out where to mount the ECU; not a lot of options and not a lot of room. Because it is a factory AC car, the heater box is quite large along with all of the ducting for it. There is a spot under the dash on the drivers side straight under the cowl; problem is there isn't anything to attach a bracket to. I am not real excited about drilling up into the cowl. I could put it under the car and build a box for it.

Worked most of the day to mount the ECU; ended up mounting it inside the Driver's side fender above the brace. I built a bracket/mounting plate out of 18g steel; in fact I think I over built it a bit but it isn't something I want falling off. Now I have to sort out the wiring harness; the Holley system is different than the FAST system I have for the Cuda and some of the connections on the Holley harness are different (micro connectors), so I am going to have to do some wiring changing. I have a full compliment of weatherpack stuff so that should not be an issue so long as I get the wires in the right spot.

That area gets flooded when drinking through rainstorms. We never plan on driving in the rain n but it happens. Out of the 6 days of the Rapid Transit Tour 2016, we had 2 rain free days. It poured!  All of my 3 e-body ECUs are in the car with me. There is a space between the gas pedal and A/C box where I come through.

There is little to no room under my dash or I would have mounted it there. I did the research and the ECU is watertight and designed to be mounted in off road rigs, all of the connectors are MIL spec and/or weather pack; I am confident it will be fine. If I am wrong, I have only myself to blame.

If you had an A/C cowl, that big vent assembly is gone next to the parking brake. I would remove it and put a cap over the chimney. Then you can use all of that space. You will end up with A/C eventually, right?
That ECU is watertight but not flood proof.

Not a bad idea but I am not ripping out all of my AC heater assembly for this. I don't intend to drive it in a flood, but if it were to happen and the car died, I have AAA...

No, I'm saying AC cars have a big empty space above your left foot to use. Non-AC cars don't, unless you remove the vent.

Oh, got it. That was one of the possible mounting locations, however there is nothing to mount to in that area really; I have some other things already mounted in that location as well, so it wasn't ideal. Also, I wasn't too keen on drilling yet another big hole in the firewall.

I am not concerned with mounting it under the fender but I understand your points. I thought through this pretty hard, researched it, talked to Rich at FASTman, etc. The reality is that this box was designed and built to be exposed to the environment on rock crawlers, sand rails, race cars, and even boats; so I am pretty good with it being in the fender. That said, it will be on top of a plate, so it will not take a direct hit from anything, sure it would get wet but again I think it is designed to take it. If this were not the case, I would not have even considered it, but looking at it and talking to Rich as well as others, I am ok with it. If I am wrong, I will come back here and state it publically...  :bigsmile: The better point here is that I am not altering anything that cannot be fixed easily and if this doesn't work out and I end up wanting to move it inside, I still be able to.

Those connectors look pretty water tight.   I installed my Megasquirt ECU in the glove box.   It's not water tight by any means.

Thanks, I would not put my FAST ECU outside, but this one is much more water tight.

I am trying to decide if I need to spend the money on fuel and oil pressure sensor (tranducers). I have read on the Holley forum that it isn't required, but nice to have. The transducer is the same for both uses and they cost $117 each.
