Sorry to hear about the trans issue. The EFI issues, while troubling are somewhat expected.

Hope it is sorted soon to allow you to get the top end tuned.

Yea I guess it comes with the territory. The EFI tuning is coming along pretty well, the car has never run as good as does now and it still isn't tune 100%, so I am hopeful on that front. The trans issue is yet another issue that has to be overcome.

A bit of an update;

I was in Las Vegas all last week working and returned on Friday to find that the half of the roof on one bay on one of my shop's had blew completely off and about 1/4 of the roof on 2 other bays was ripped up. I had my Challenger and my Cuda in the shop at the time but fortunately neither were hurt. Of course being in the great Pacific Northwest it has and was raining so most everything was wet. Funny thing is that nothing else was damaged, there is another shop right behind this one along with 2 attached overhead roofs in the area as well as a barn and a far amount of wooden fencing. Its crazy, it looks like a small wind shear or small tornado hit it.

I got the cars moved and moved everything under cover that I could, I have the insurance adjustor (USAA is awesome) coming out this week. Might be some expansion in my future... LOL

On a more positive note; I had to move the Challenger (twice), it started right up and ran very well so at least I have that going for me. Fortunately the side with the lift was not affected, so I might be able to work on the transmission soon.

Hi all, I am back. It has been a long haul since April. I was able to get my shop repaired and extend it by 8' in the process. It truly feels like a whole new shop!! I have to admit that I got a little OCD in reorganizing it spending more time than Id like to admit making custom brackets to hold things, realigning everything, throwing away a lot of crap that was laying around for years. I was also able to get it insulated with R19 (still have a couple of places I need to cover), put down 26g roofing, etc. Long story short, MUCH better than ever.

I am now (as of today) revisiting the Challenger trying to finish tuning it and trying to get the transmission sorted, then it will be back to the Cuda. To that point, I moved the Challenger back into the shop today (from my other shop); didn't start with a flick of the key but it did start pretty quickly (better than it ever did with the carbs). Seemed to be surging as it was idling like it was trying to figure out what it needed/wanted but I am not sure as I did not have the laptop on it so I could not see what was changing.

I'm having shop envy, looks good! Lots of room there, I have room to extend, but wouldn't want to go through what you did I probably wouldn't of been that lucky. Hoping you get those cars back in the road soon!

Thanks all. A somewhat annoying side effect of this shop rebuild is a dose of EOS (extreme organization syndrome)... lol. I am having problems stopping organizing. Yesterday I went into the shop planning on dropping the trans pan on the challenger, instead I somehow got deep into tool box cleaning and reorganizing which lasted until about 8pm. Didn't get it 100% finished but pretty close, however now 3 of the 4 tool boxes (box and roller cabinet) are reorganized and even labeled... 

Today I have to finish the tool box effort and move on to the car, but we will see  to be completely honest I think I am procrastinating on it because the trans is a bit intimidating and I am not completely comfortable with pulling it apart; mostly because I am not sure what I am looking for. Since it wont shift into 3rd; most research is saying sticking governor which means the tail housing has to come off. I guess what I am saying, I don't have a "warm and fuzzy" that I will be able to find a problem and fix it, rather I will take it apart and put it back together and "hope" it is good.

Roll with it and organize it's a good thing.
We used to say at work "you gotta take time to make time" I don't know about you, how frustrated I get when working on something and I can't find a tool or/and there's so much stuff in the way you can't get to anything or are tripping over everything. Since I'm keeping things clean and organized frustration has gone down and overall I think I'm doing better and more efficient just more enjoyable.

 Regarding your transmission problem get a copy of Torqueflite A727 Transmission Handbook. It walks you through all aspects of repairing and rebuilding the 727. I used it when I rebuilt mine. Never done an auto before and it works great. Better yet if you are not busy Saturday I am having a barbecue, swing by and you can borrow my copy have a burger and beer by the lake.
