I'm glad it worked for you.  I had a spare valve lying around so I took the shims off of it and added them to my Challenger's valve.  It did absolutely nothing.  No difference in steering feel at all.  I might try adding more at some point.  I don't remember exactly how thick the extra washers ended up being.

Check Amazon, here's what I used

Shim Flat Washer, 18-8 Stainless Steel, 3/16" x 1/2" Bolt Size, 0.378-0.383" ID, .493-.498" OD, 0.020" Thick (Pack of 25)

Thanks for the info Katfish.  Now how many washers did you use???  I sure don't want to do this twice with all the fluid you have to drain.  OP said he used 2, that is a known number that works, that is why I wanted to find the exact washer.  But if your suggestion fits, then the quantity you used would be helpful.

The washers I bought are 0.020", so I added 3.
The Mopar Action article mentions 0.0630" as a good starting point.

I'm happy with the improvement, having said that, I'd probably add 1 more washer if I ever have it apart again.
