If you have the levers with 2 holes using the lower hole closer to the pivot shortens the throw  < I would swap the 34 to the inside of the lever at the shifter this will give more clearance to the crossmember .

Funny my shifter levers only had one hole but yeah move it up one as it looks like mine is higher than yours.

Will try this tonight and see if that solves the issue.

This will be my 2nd option if moving to the inside on the shifter lever doesn't work...I'll let you guys know incase anyone else runs into this. Thanks guys

Moving up to the next hole worked. Swapping the swivel to the inside caused it to hit the 1/2 rod swivel.

Now, I noticed my 1/2 rod is hitting the body but it's minir. Should be able to bang it without removing anything.

I would tweak the rods a little & use the lower hole , I like the short shift throw

Both rods were hitting the body when using the lower holes and would require some extensive cutting/grinding to make it work. Is it that much of a difference? I'm kind of confused why I'd have to cut the body tunnel, I haven't read anything about that before? It was an original 3 speed car, were differences in the body for the different rods?  :dunno:

The trans crossmember or the mounting plate that connects the shifter to the trans? Crossmember is original to the car and in good condition. The mounting plate is a brand new billet piece from brewer's, only one they sell for e-body. It only goes on one way from what I remember

Digging this back up. Everything is installed, car is running and still really hard to shift. It feels like its bound up in the mechanism but the mechanism tested good out of the car on it's own. Everything is brand new from Passon/Brewers. Going to pull the mechanism out and see if I can shift the levers with just the rods attached.

The mechanism seems fine, reverse shifts no problem.

Odd

I pulled it all apart and reassembled. All operating levers on the trans are in neutral. They move into gear at the trans. Lined up the mechanism levers with a drill bit, installed all the linkage and pulled the drill bit. Reverse engages, 1st does not engage, 2nd does. 3rd engages, 4th does not. 1st and 4th will pop into neutral on their own. Clutch in or out doesnt make a difference. Possible I screwed up the clutch install, warped it or something? There's no fluid yet in the trans, does that matter?

Any ideas? I'm at a loss now

No , You either have the wrong levers or shifter the levers on the trans need to be shorter or use the holes closer to the pivot or the kever in the shifter need to be longer is my bet

This is exactly what I bought from Brewers, added the recommended operating levers with the rod set:
