On the subject of paint, I have A 70 barracuda, EF8 Ivy green metallic. I have had A couple of people come up to me and say  that they thought it was an ugly color but A nice car otherwise.  I replayed they could buy the car and paint it any color they wanted. :screwy:

I love my EF8 Cuda
I tell people it's not for sale and if they press, I tell them to double whatever number they are willing to pay.

Regarding critics of color and such...ask them what color is their car...and they walk away...

Most people are judging a color by what they see on an old unrestored example.  EF8 looks awesome when it's fresh.

My experience is every single car made back then had a Hemi,
At least 15-20 people I've met over the years have had the same response, "Oh yeah, I had this exact same car, but it had a Hemi in it, is was a 69 Challenger...."

On that same note I had to excuse myself from a guy that was settling in to tell me all about the 64-1/2 Camaro he used to own...
Here is how a lot of conversations start on mine.
So...... when you paint it, what color are you going to change it to?
I tell them Y5 and then sit back and wait for the puzzled look. The "tire kicker" will just move on.

I never get tire kickers down here. Most people down here have seen Barrett Jackson once on tv and think all cudas are worth $200,000. Most people are in awe just to see it, lol.  :money:

I've never heard any criticism of my car's colors.  On the contrary, at shows and cruises, I've had so many people show interest in the colors; Stories of neighbors or relatives that had a car the same color in the 70s.  People asking if it's an original color, they've never seen one that color.  People telling me how cool the color looks in the sun.  People saying how nice it is to see a Challenger that's not one of the usual 4 or 5 colors that 90% of them seem to be.  And of course being put on the cover of the prestigious cuda-Challenger calendar this year.  :cooldancing:
But when it comes to someone wanting to buy an E body that's not one of usual 4 or 5 colors, no one seems very interested. :2cents:

My experience with the yellow is that most people either love it or hate it. No real in betweens. My favorite color happens to be yellow and it is only a coincidence I ended up with it. I do however appreciate the fact the 74 version is toned down a bit from the earlier impact years.

saw this great reply in an article “Once a guy offered me $60,000 for my other Mercury, he questioned why I wouldn’t take the money and I was like ‘what am I going to do with 60 grand, take it to a car show and be like, look what I got?’ I’d rather enjoy the car.”
