VISA card compromised....
« on: July 12, 2016 - 01:44:47 PM »
So I get in today and there's a message from Indigo Books....They want me to call and confirm my "on line" purchase.

When she told me it was to be mailed to a different address then billed to, it usually tips a red flag, so she called.

I'm very thankful because when I called VISA they told me of two "ON LINE" purchases made that didn't jive....

Walmart $630.03
and Indigo $919.78  :22yikes:

What the Truck do you buy at Indigo for $900 frickin dollars ? :screwy:

Must be a very dumb crook.....

...and now I'm the one having to cancel my card and all the pre-authorized payments....PITA :stomp:

Yea, I'm thankful....One great thing about 'on line banking" is that I'm constantly checking my credit card and accounts, sometimes two or three times a day...

My VISA purchases were over $40K for the month of June alone...so I watch it very carefully... :money:

Visa's best quality is its worst quality.  I've had my card compromised 3 times and all 3 times everything was covered no questions asked.  I too use mine for work and with a points card we have got a  dishwasher (x2) fridge,  microwave,  washer and dryer, etc and kids Xmas presents every year.

Alan

This reminds me of a recent sales trip I had to make. I took a cab from the airport to my hotel upon landing. Usually taxi drivers use square to run the credit card, this last time I got a guy who still had to run the card the old fashion way with paper.

I thought oh great this business CC # will end up in some thief's hands in the next 20 mins. Nothing yet but from now on when that happens I'll just pay cash.

Yep same here I had mine compromised 3 times in a short period 2 years ago

Visa caught the issue each time. New card each time also.

Sucks but ya gotta stay on top of it.
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.
