tach off, what to do?
« on: July 22, 2016 - 03:17:40 PM »
Newbie here.  So my stock Rallye gauge tach is way off. Hooked up a timing light thst had rpms on the gun showing way lower #'s than my factory tach in the dash is reading.

The higher the RPM's the more it's off.  The factory tach is showing 1400 rpms higher at 4000 rpm than the engine is actually running.

Wheres a good place to have it restored?  I live an hour from "just dashes" and North Hollywood speedometer.  I have spent a lot of money on this car so I'm trying to be wise as these e bodies get costly fast.

Would it be better to buy a new tach to replace the old one in the dash or is that not an option? If it is an  option, I'm afraid a new one may look odd as the other gauges are showing some of their  age and a new tach may look a little odd?? I like the factory look, but mine is way off and I like the idea of having a functioning tach.

If there is already a thread on this, please point me to it.  Thanks
