Starting the "mock-up stage" tomorrow. It's going in a quadruple black 71 Cuda resto-mod. Putting a Tremic 5 speed behind it and a Dana 60 out back. Mild suspension/steering and braking upgrades.

Indy built the motor...de-tuned it to be street-able with A/C etc....still hit 705hp on the dyno :scared:

Wait 'til you see the beautiful polished Tru-Trac serpentine belt system for the front of it

Actually it will be a very accurate clone of a 1971 Cuda....I'm even changing all the interior pieces like rear view mirror, sun visors, headliner, seats etc....to be correct 71 pieces not 73...

According to your definition - non original motor and trans alone would disallow you to call it a clone.

That's not at all what I said.... I said in order to be a clone of something it should at least have everything an original has....referring to trim/etc... that came on all Cudas.

A few of questions for you Allan.  Are those TTI headers?  Does the #1 cylinder pipe clear the steering box without dimpling?  Where are you placing the O2 sensor?  Thanks

YES TTI 2 1/8 headers. I flattened the #1 pipe very slightly for the steering box, hardly anything at all...

HOWEVER....I had the dimple both headers for the Hemi's  Main cross bolts. Indy used ARP type fasteners and they protrude out the side of the block quite a bit.

The motor was actually de-tuned quite a bit, I hope the TKO is up to the task.....it's just a mild street cruiser....

Last time I went ahead and put the O2 sensor in the header right before the collector. My mechanic felt it may be too far forward. This time he's getting a lot more involved with the mock up stage, so it could end up in the X pipe after the collector :dunno:

Right before the collector is an extremely popular location for applications like this.

That's what I thought.... :dunno: I'm not sure what the issues were last time, but it was a totally different EFI system.
