Exhaust cut outs

Anyone running exhaust cut outs? I have seen several on the market, even have bluetooth controls to open and close.

I am running Dougs cut outs and so far they have worked great! Love the convenience of having a quiet exhaust and then tuning the sound with amount the slide gates are open although I'm usually wide open all the time  :roflsmiley:

I remember checking into this in the winter. Read the product reviews, some didn't have very good ones.

I'm in the middle of installing the y pipe for the cutouts now. Can you post a picture of how you have yours routed?

I was debating putting them right after the trans mount, now I am thinking of moving them back, after the x pipe.

Here is a couple pics of how I did it. I don't know if this is the best way or not but they work well and sure sounds awesome with my 512 stroker!

I ran the wires up through the rubber floor grommets and then over to the center console and hooked up the rocker switch inside. I have to flip up the lid to access the switch which is mounted on the front vertical wall of the console.

I installed the summit brand earlier this year. so far so good. I had just the manual dumps on for a couple of years and the addition of the electrics is great.

  I was always planning side exhaust rigged up to cut outs but after researching online and talking to people with experience, I was told they don't last very long as the motors fail due to the heat I guess?

I will post here if I have trouble....cruised today for 200 miles. Had them open and closed a bunch of times. I think exercising them on a regular basis will help.
