I'm starting the process of investigating new Torsion Bars in my 1970 383 Barracuda Convertible.   What Torsion Bar are you running in Your Convertible and please tell me what you think of your size torsion bar...

383 standard and they are great, had a 1970 with 440 six-barrel and that was to hard now it's much smoother.

I believe;  383 standard is .86.   340 cuda is .90.   440 is .92.       Maybe...

  • Miss NIKKI - were you this hot at 48?
The BIG FF.. like...1.12 or whatever . I don't exactly remember , but its the same one Brad is running HE will remember. But I've done a ton more suspension upgrades. Just T-bars is not the answer if your looking for a big improvement in handling.  :dunno:

  • no replacement for displacement
I run a 1.125 bar in my car.  It has a great smooth ride with out being mushy or without being overly harsh.  I do have A LOT more aftermarket parts in the suspension to make it all work well.  Bigs said it right.  One piece isn't a cure.  You will at least need a nice set of shocks to compliment the T-bars.

.90 and I think they are to soft.  I did tighten them up a bit to lift the front end a bit so we'll see if they are any better now

Ride Tech 4 link in the rear.  US Car Tool sub frame connectors.   I'm going with a QA1 K-member for clearance issues.  Borgeson QR box. Plate lower control arms.  Hotchkis; Upper control arms, Adjustable steering rods, Pivot shafts, Adjustable strut rods.
The Torsion Bars will be in this system.

What's you intended usage, sway bar and tire sizes, and rear spring rates?
