FYI.........  I bought carpet from Classic Industries 2 years ago. It came in a tube and the padding on backside was not glued in the proper places.  After getting disgusted with trying to get it to fit, I threw it away and bought from RockAuto.

When I researched this a few years ago, my first inclination was to go with the Trim Parts carpet since they're located about 8 miles up the road from me.  However, after comparing photos of the heelpads, the ACC seemed a bit closer to the original from what I could tell, so I went with the ACC.  When I received the carpet and put it side by side with the original, the ACC was nearly identical.

In all fairness though, I do hear that Trim Parts also makes a good product.

Is there any decision to be made going for carpet durability vs originality? As long as it's black, I'm content. I am looking for a durable carpet to last quite a bit of driving.

That looks amazing!  Did you put any sound barrier down?      How did you do the bolt holes and seatbelt holes?

Thanks 4C. I laid down FatMat (pictured below). And used a cheap ole soldering gun/pen to burn the holes (pictured below). Same thing for the dimmer switch hole. Worked perfectly.  :2thumbs:

Goody, as far as originality, they came with loop pile, which seems to fade to blue guicker than cut pile. I went with the cut pile, two years in and two driving/show seasons and mine still looks good.  I purchased mine through Rock Auto, because they had the best price....and supposedly  it is ACC carpet.

I put ACC mass backed carpet in my convertible last fall and it is great!  No need to put down sound/heat barrier on your floorboards before putting the carpet down if you get mass backed.  It's got a molded in rubberized layer under the carpet that performs the heat and sound barrier function.
It fit like a glove in my Challengers floorboard.
Only issue I ran into installing it is that it is harder to cut and trim when installing.  I tore my hands up pretty bad with blisters from all the cutting with scissors and utility knife.  Next time I'll wear work gloves from the get go!
And I had some trouble getting the sill panels on, and installed so that they weren't catching the door panels when I opened and closed the doors.  Because of the extra thickness.  Extra trimming and a friend helping me push down the sills while I installed the screws were what it took to deal with that issue.
The pain and extra time were well worth it though!
I ordered my ACC from Rock Auto, it is drop shipped directly from ACC, and with the 5% off code it was pretty inexpensive.
ECS sells laid flat carpet and the claim is that carpets get permanent folds and wrinkles from being rolled up in a carton for shipping.
I was told a trick which is to order your carpet at the beginning of the week and your carpet will arrive later in the week.  Unroll it immediately and let it lay flat.  Its only been in the box a few days so not enough time to get any permanent flaws.
I got ripped on for sharing that tip on Moparts.  Hopefully I don't get ripped on here, as it works.  Naysayers say the carpet is boxed and stored until it is sold so could have been on their rack for months.  That may happen with some of their SKUs but from what I have seen and my personal experience, carpets for vintage Mopars are made to order.  The date codes on my carpet and the floor mats I ordered after my carpet installation where both the same day the cartons were shipped!!
Maybe they get an occasional return, or for a high volume seller like for Fox body stangs or something I can see they would have carpets that sit in inventory.  But for the most part when you order an ACC carpet its made to order.
