Difference in SB engine to transmission braces
« on: August 05, 2016 - 04:54:18 PM »
Never noticed this before but I have two sets of small block engine to transmission braces. Check out the attached picture.  The passenger side is the same length for both sets,  the drivers side is an inch difference in length between the two sets.  Can anyone explain why these sets don't match in length.

It's early vs late,  Could even be 273-318-340 vs 360...I've seen it before, never bothered to pinpoint when the change was made, just know to match them up to my engine....

My "GUESS" would lean toward 727 vs 904  :dunno: but I really have no clue....time to break out the parts manual...

360s use the longer brace. The mounting point on the block is in a different place.
