Yup, I'm working on it. Do you know if the bolt goes to the inside or outside of the hose, and what the bolt looks like ?

Alan -  If / when you get some time and feel like it...       could you post some detail / close up photos of the speed control system?  I am restoring a unit and was just curious on routing / finishes used and all that jazz.

I don't claim anything on my restoration to be correct and certainly not something for others to go by.

I had nothing to go by so I just did the best I could with pictures found on the internet. Not a lot of E Bodies with cruise control.

It's to the inside & it's a pan head screw... I think it's a #8 but it could be a #10 probably 5/8" long

I've seen some with a hex head bolt similar to the ones talked about for the cruise control bracket

I want to restore and reinstall the AC onto my convertible someday.  The engine needs a refreshing,  so maybe redoing the HVAC system sooner rather than later. As it is the heater doesn't even work, which doesn't bother me except when I've left early for a spring car show or stayed after dark at a late season cruise!
When I bought the car I was given a box of the old grungy AC components and lines, and an NOS coolant shut off valve with it.  I'll have my work cut out for me!

                        Hope your compressor has the correct oil in it for the refrigerent selected.

At least your up front about it ----   I currently disassembled my two units tonight - Cast aluminum housings and then a dichromate plated cover....      was thinking of zinc plating for the screws in the housing and then black phosphate for the bracket nuts?   

Those little buggers are way more complicated than I thought they would be....      are you aware of any method of bench testing functions before installing them >?
